Name: Seung Mina Shape: Biohazard with rounded back. Weight: 100kg Colour: Red with green and blue vinyl scratches. Drive: 2 S28-400 Magmotors @ 36v, gearing is 9:1. Speed: 22mph Wheels: Two inside are like Biohazard's, but poke up through her so they can be used invertibly. The other two are at the rear, just like the previous version, and are foam-filled, using Vulkalon rubber. Batteries: 4 x 36v NiMH, capacity = 3600mAh Armour: 4mm hardox 650 all around, with an extra coating of 1 CM lexan around the back and 7mm lexan everywhere else. Ground Clearance: Front and sides it is 0mm; the back is 5mm. Dimensions in CM: 100 x 75 x 10 Weaponry: A Biohazard-style lifting arm with a bladed point at the end to get inside wheel holes, etc. The arm is powered by a dual linear actuator system, so it functions two ways: at the middle, and at the gear, so it has many versatile ways of lifting. Srimech: Invertible. Strengths: Good armour, extremely versatile weapon. Weaknesses: Rear wheels are exposed at back, weapon does little to no damage. BIO: Obsession with one of my favourite video games finally caught up with me, causing me to revive Destructophobic and name it after a chick. It was better than the previous two incarnations, but I realized that its weapon wouldn't be able to get into play enough. The result: another scrapping before battles started... Seung Mina IIShape: Low wedge with sloped sides. Weight: 99kg Colour: Still is red-orange with green and blue paint scratched on. Drive: 2 S28-400 Magmotors @ 36v, powered by 4 NiMH cells. Gearing is now 6:1. Speed: 21mph Wheels: Two inner wheels like Toe Crusher's. Armour: 6mm hardox 650 all around. Ground Clearance: It's 0mm at the front, 2mm at the sides, and 0mm at the back with a rear skirt. Dimensions in CM: 90 x 70 x 15 Weaponry: Seung Mina now has a much better weapon (IMO ). It's a front flipping arm powered by dual 2.5kg CO2 tanks, and is capable of launching an opponent its own weight about 5 feet into the air. She can tip over 1000kg at the tip, and toss about 550kg. The flipping arm is made of boron carbide and rests on top of her, so that when the arm is raised, there is still armour there. Seung Mina is also capable of pleasing the crowd when on her back. Srimech: Flipper. Strengths: Excellent armour, excellent weapon, hard to get under. Weaknesses: Can't really externally damage the opponent. Notes: Seung Mina II is heavily shockproofed to absorb heavy blows from discs and full-body spinners. BIO: Into its fourth generation, Seung Mina II was the first of Team Zlayerz bots to receive the shockproof treatment, which helped it enormously against those heavy-hitting flywheels and full-body spinners. Its previous shape was ditched for a conventional yet deadly and sleek design. The weapon was better too. ;D She was good, but bested by that damn Shovearound 2, so I had to improve upon Mina's weak aspects. So...redesign. Seung Mina IIIShape and Colour: See pictures. Sloped sides should thwart ramming attempts and throw opposing bots onto her flipper. Weight: 100kg Speed: 17mph Armour: 3mm hardox main body, and the flipper panel is 8mm Grade 5 titanium. Chassis: 5mm steel ladder chassis Drive: 2 LEM130s at 36v. Power: 6 36v NiCad Battlepacks. Motivation: 4 aluminum hubs, with vulkalon tires for grip. Ground Clearance: 3mm all around, except at the front, which is 0mm. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 114 x 80 x 25 Weaponry: A nice pneumatic nitrogen-powered flipper. The 2 nitrogen tanks are each 3kg and sit on each side on the flipper, giving her about 1400kg of flipping force, and 650kg of tossing power, more than before, giving out about 15-20 flips in one fight. It can run at half-pressure, thus halving the power but conserving the number of flips to 30-35. What's great about the flipper is that it rests on top of the wedge, and the rams come out of holes in the wedge, so that if the flipper is (unlikely) ripped off, then there is still armour there. The wedge itself, behind the flipper, has a self-coloured plate to help get under other robots if the flipper is upraised. Also, there are several skirted titanium spikes hinged on the edge of the flipper to sneak under other skirts, which could actually spear an opponent's tires if rammed straight into one. All in all, this adds up to 3 ways that the front ground clearance is 0mm, making it virtually impossible to get underneath Seung Mina III from the front. there are also some static hardox claws at the top to prevent bots for driving straight over the wedge. Srimech: Flipper that should send her into a 540. Strengths: Powerful flipper, can't be gotten under from the front at all, fast, powerful, pushy. Weaknesses: Can't REALLY damage the opponent, might be flipped from sides. Notes: Seung Mina III is further shockproofed to absorb heavy hits from spinners like Mass Disctruction Ultimate and the like. BIO: Fifth generation now. Seung Mina III now has an insanely powerful flipper, and the versatility to get under almost anything. The armour has been halved, but hardox is still pretty tough armour, even at 3mm. Note the little pic of Mina at the back ;D. Seung Mina III was also the first vapourbot to WIN ME A TOURNAMENT!!! ;D ;D ;D She also has quite the rivalry with Whirligig. ;D Battle Record = 8 wins, 2 losses (8-2) Time of Activity = January 2008 - March 2008 Notable Achievements = The first vapourbot to win me a tournament. ;D *huggles Mina*. Seung Mina IVShape: Check the CAD. Colour: Check the CAD. Weight: 100kg Speed: 16mph (geared to acceleration) Armour: 3.25mm Hardox 600. This allows me to bolt the panels on more firmly and thus prevents them from simply being smacked off. The entire front flipper is 9mm Grade 5 titanium except for the middle bar, which is 7mm Hardox 750 to deflect vertical spinners. The skirts are 6mm Grade 5 Titanium, and the top (underneath the flipper cover) and bottom are 7mm 7075 aircraft aluminium. Drive: 2 LEM130s @ 48v. Provides 24HP, which should be more than enough to push some bots around. Power: 6 NiCad Battlepacks @ 48v. Should provide her with enough power to get through 5 minutes of battling. Motivation: The usual 4 aluminium hubs, and also the usual 4 urethane tires for grip. Pretty powerful stuff. Ground Clearance: The entire front is 0mm, even the front wedge. The sides are 6mm without the titanium skirts and the rear is 10mm, so Mina can drive around easier. Turning Circle: Zilcho. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 105 x 90 x 40 Weaponry: Seung Mina IV now has another interchangeable weapon: Set-up 1 - A pneumatic rear-hinged flipper, powered by double 100mm rams and 2 2.5kg CO2 tanks at 900psi each. This should allow Seung Mina to toss about 1500kg onto its head, and send an opponent of equal size about 9 feet into the air, easily capable of OOTAs. The flipping plate at the bottom can be exchanged for a pair of titanium spikes literally scraping the ground, able to penetrate pretty much anything. The flipper can fire about 25-30 times in a fight. Set-up 2 - The entire flipper mechanism (and skirts) can be removed and replaced with a circular armoured ring frame about the body of Seung Mina, made of 9mm Hardox, with a front wedge block resting where the flipper was, made of 10mm Hardox and taking up nearly half the wedge from the bottom, up. The ring is about 10cm off the ground and makes the entire LxW dimensions of Seung Mina IV about 150 x 150 in CM. This is designed to fend off spinners and crushers. The ring is supposed by three 5mm Hardox bars from both sides and rear, so there's no need for skirts for this set-up. Srimech: Flipper Strengths: An all-rounder to the extreme: fast, nice acceleration, very powerful drive and very powerful weapon, good armour. Note 1: An ultimate redesign for Seung Mina, and the colour scheme co-ordinates with the new Seung Mina character's costume announced for Soul Calibur IV. Note 2: Added a different set-up for spinner and crusher killers. BIO: When there's a costume redesign for the alter-ego real Seung Mina, the robotic colour swap can never be far behind. This 6th generation is quite diverse and incorporates a hugely powerful flipper with another set-up designed to kill spinners. ;D The rivalry with Whirligig continues, though. However...it's fallen quite low. Going from 4th seed to out in Round 1...eep. Redesign, on the double! Seung Mina VShape: Rounded box-wedge with sloped sides and a curved rear wedge. Colour: Mix of greens and whites, with a gold flipper. Weight: 100kg Drive: 2 LEM130 Lynch motors, run at 36.3 volts and geared to acceleration. Power: 11 A123 M1 Lithium-Ion packs, for a total of 7.7kg of batteries. These should provide sufficient enough power for a whole 5 minutes and possibly more. Motivation: 4-wheel-drive on a skid steer system. Has aluminium hubs with polyurethane tires for that extra bit of grip Mina needs. Top Speed: 19mph Armour: A 3.2mm Hardox monocoque, which also includes the CO2 tank side and rear guards. The motor, ram, and battery mounts are 5mm Hardox. Ground Clearance: Underneath the front it's 0, and the sides and rear are 5mm. Turning Circle: Can turn on the spot so it's 0. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 108 x 83 x 28 Weaponry: A rear-hinged pneumatic flipper, taking up nearly the entire front wedge. It's powered by a 5kg CO2 tank (64cm length and 21cm diameter) and is fed off 2 80mm rams with 20mm bores. This should allow Seung Mina to comfortably toss over 2000kg without suffering any pneumatic problems; over 2000kg...well let's not get carried away. Number of flips in one fight should be about 20. Srimech: Flipper. Strengths: Good armour, powerful flipper, powerful drive. More picsRear viewFlipper raisedInternals ahoy!BIO: Going out in Round 1 just...sucks. I hoped this near-Achilles version didn't encounter the same fate...but it did...to the hands of Achilles itself! Uh, yeah, that did it in. Redesign please! Seung Mina VIShape: Gone back to the original III design with a few twists. She's a long, low wedge with the flipping arm in the middle, and sloped, curved sides. The rear is a reversed wedge, but rounded off at the bottom where the 2WD pokes out. Colour: Mix of whites and greens, with some red accents thrown in. Weight: 100kg Drive: 2 LEM130 Lynch motors run at 49.5v, gearing is an average 6:1; no overkill, but no slouching either. Power: 15 M1 A123 Lithium-Ion battery packs Motivation: 2WD inner; 200mm CNC hubs with the usual urethane tires. The wheels are big to provide more traction while still giving more weight at the front of the robot so the flipper gets under bots easier. Speed: 16mph Armour: 6mm Ti/V alloy with the flipping arm made out of 8mm Ti/V. The top claws are titanium and the underbelly is 10mm polycarbonate. Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front, rising at the sides from that to 10mm at the rear. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 105 x 102 x 30 Weaponry: You know the drill for the Seung Mina series of vapourbots...what? You don't? Fine. It's a rear-hinged flipping arm, powered by 2 2.5kg CO2 tanks, a 5L buffer tank, and a 250mm stroke 100mm bore ram. This gives Mina enough power to easily clear about 2 tonnes, and has enough in the tank for 25 full power flips. The ram is positioned underneath the middle of the flipping arm. Also, the spikes from the SM3 design return, only they're more pointy and curved. They're to trap wedges that try to fly over SM6. Srimech: Flipper BIO: The Achilles clone hasn't had much luck, so I went back to a winning design. Ironically, SM6 didn't win much either. Erm...redesign? Yes. Seung Mina VIIShape: A large, low, invertible wedge, rounded at the sides and rear. Colour: Going back to scarlet, red, and green for this one. Weight: 100kg Drive: 2 Ampflow A40-300 motors, geared 4.5:1 for more control Power: 5 packs each of 10 M1 A123 Li-Ion cells, altogether 33v Motivation: 2WD at the back, exposed ONLY at the back. Go-kart style tires with aluminium hubs. Top Speed: 12mph Armour: Both the wedge and underbelly (surrounding the flipper) have a 5mm Ti/V sheet on top, under which is 10mm 6063 aluminium/magnesium alloy to cushion and/or reinforce it. The rear is 4mm Ti/V only. There are also some titanium skirts at the sides. Ground Clearance: Absolute zero at the front, and zero rising to 5cm at the sides. 5cm at the rear. The reason for this is accommodate something in the weaponry...the sides are protected by the skirts, and make the side GC zero. Turning Circle: Folks, don't divide by zero. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 120 x 105 x 35 Weaponry: The main weapon is a rear-hinged Maelstrom-style body flipper. The flipper is about 60cm wide at the top and about 30cm wide at the tip of the wedge, running the whole length of the body. It is run off the same system as before (2 2.5kg CO2 tanks and a 5L buffer tank), only this time it uses a 150mm ram instead of a 250mm one, 900psi on tap. This should be enough to clear 11, yes, 11 metric tons. I dunno how high a robot would go but I estimate it'd go pretty damn high. The ram is positioned near the back of the flipper. Seung Mina VII has tools to aid her in her flipping fury. For one, there are Gamma Raptor-style claws at the top of the flipper, either way up, to keep robots from driving over...but if that isn't enough, there are barbs flanking either side of the flipper either way up as well. These claws and barbs are why the big ground clearance at the sides and rear is needed. There are Ti/V blades at the sides of the flipper edge as well, ala Firestorm, to catch those who try and avoid the flipper. There are removable Hardox spikes at the rear as well, should I need them. Srimech: Fully invertible. BIO: It's time for a wild change...so here it is! Resembling Wedgin8or somewhat, though. Thanks a whole bunch to Joey McConnell, Leo van Miert, and Martijn Benschop for helping with this, especially Joey who introduced the Technobots pneumatic ram calculator to me. I dunno where my knowledge of vapourbots has gone recently...
