Battle 1 Achilles vs. Systematic Shocker
-------- -------- Kody: So what’s the scoop on Achilles’ tactics? Alex: Er, not much. Just going with the hydraulics, going to see how much fun he’ll have in the air. Kody: Looks impressive. Alex: Can lift over 400kg, so it’s at the least quite good I’d say. Kody: I wouldn’t bet against that. How do you feel about your opponent? Alex: Newcomer, whatever, all the same to me. Only another fight I have to win. Kody: Good luck to you. Alex: Thanks. -------- -------- Kody: Hey, how’s it coming along? Liam: Coming along? It’s done, nothing more to do. Kody: Lovely. And what are your tactics gonna be? Liam: Use the drum, shred him up, get him down the pit. Kody: Not worried about being a newcomer to the game? Liam: Hell no. It’s just a flipper. Kody: Confident, aren’t you…he’s using hydraulics for this bout. Liam: Good for me, I won’t be flipped as easily then. Kody: Good luck out there. Liam: Thank you. -------- --------

Booth #1: Alex Holt Booth #2: Liam Eliot
In the arena, for the house robots, we have Double Whamlet; quad axes and scoop arm…also in the arena, Taki-san; electric wedge, and rear cutting blade.
3… 2… 1… Activate!
We are underway! And so are both of our first two competitors, quite possibly searing the floor with burning rubber as they crash into each other’s faces. Systematic Shocker is the quicker of the two, and therefore gets into Achilles’ zone first. It’s no big crash, just a dull thunk against the well-armoured hydraulic lifting plate, but Achilles has met the scoop just behind the drum and is stuck behind it slightly. Had Achilles wedged it successfully, it might’ve been over for Liam, but now that it’s become a pushing match, it’s Alex who’s in the gutter as, though devoid of a functional drum for the moment, Systematic Shocker starts to push Alex’s machine backwards, having the clear power advantage! Soon enough, the wall beckons. WHAM. Achilles is stuffed right into it, and Liam keeps him there.
Liam however realizes he’s not going to defeat his opponent by simply pinning him there, and also that you can only hold your opponent for 30 seconds, so he gives Achilles his freedom and backs off to rev up the spinning drum. Achilles blasts back towards his opponent, twisting around to try and attack the sides. Systematic Shocker is doing the likewise, with Achilles barely escaping a hit, and Alex smiles slightly as Achilles turns right into the side of Systematic Shocker, but unfortunately the skirts defeat the lifter and Alex drives right up the skirts and into the side, spearing Systematic Shocker’s side panel with the wedge. As he backs off, Systematic Shocker turns and goes for the frontal assault again, this time with the drum fully spun up! It puts its speed advantage to good use, and Achilles can’t turn away fast enough as it exposes its side!
CRASH!
The noise echoes through the arena, but luckily the 5mm titanium deals with the drum’s blow with only a dent. It has, however, toppled Achilles, and Systematic Shocker shoves into Achilles as Achilles’ bar srimech kicks in, sending Achilles over, and away before Liam can catch him. Alex turns his bot around as Systematic Shocker draws near, the drum back at its terminal speed, and decides to box-rush it. Liam seems a bit startled by this and backs off, but Alex keeps coming, and slams into Systematic Shocker on an angle, sliding straight under the drum which causes minimal impact on the wedge, and also getting straight under the scoop as well! Liam tries to drive off, but Achilles lifts his robot up, the claw now latched onto the top of Systematic Shocker’s left side, and keeping it in place!
With his catch of the day in his grasp, Alex heads over to the pit release button, and slams Systematic Shocker against it, unlocking the pit that slowly descends into the earth. Achilles however looks relatively unstable, however, trying to turn with a 110kg robot on his lifter, and suddenly tips forward, sending it straight onto its own lifter and suspended on it! Systematic Shocker however is nowhere near safe, as Achilles’ lifter and claw are firmly clamped around it, so it can’t move. Achilles’ wheels are spinning, but it appears unable to get around as well.
Knowing what he has to do, Alex retracts the lifter, and Systematic Shocker can finally get away, as Achilles falls back onto its own wheels. Liam comes back on the attack as Systematic Shocker barges into Achilles from the front before Alex can move his robot again, and though unable to drum up Achilles’ wedge or get at the side, pushes it across the arena, and unfortunately for Alex, right into the grasp of Double Whamlet! The house robot smacks the top of Achilles, but it’s done nil to Achilles’ top polyurethane protection, but it’s now held in place from the rear by Double Whamlet’s grabbing arms, unable to move thanks to the house robot’s power, and Taki-san is leaving her CPZ; Liam gets the hell out of the way as her big cutting blade makes itself known!
CRASH!!!
Known to Achilles’ hydraulic lifter, that is! It smacks against the side of the lifter, slightly denting the 4mm Hardox plate but other than that, it’s just sparks, m’dear. ;D Now The Watcher makes his own presence known, and shoves Taki outta the way, which is the cue for Whamlet to release Achilles…who darts straight into the nearby Systematic Shocker’s side! This time, the skirt doesn’t help Liam, and Achilles has firmly wedged the Welsh robot! The claw seems to securely clamped it, and Liam fiercely wiggles the controls back and forth as Achilles lifts his robot into the air, and starts to drag it towards the pit!
All of a sudden, the tracks of Systematic Shocker do indeed make a shocker, getting just enough traction to rotate, and tilt slightly off the lifting plate, which is enough to send Achilles completely off-balance, and he is thrown forward as Systematic Shocker is thrown off, gliding just by the pit, and Liam wipes his brow that he didn’t meet such a fate. Alex isn’t too happy about this, and he restores the lifter down and rushes forward to makes amends. But Systematic Shocker makes a little reverse manoeuvre and Achilles ends up flying past him, setting up a perfect opportunity for a hit, which Liam takes!
CRASH!!!
Probably the best drum hit of this match, as the 5mm titanium panel gets taken off completely! To say Alex is displeased would be quite an understatement right about now; he is positively fuming, and Liam is happy with the result: he moves forward to attack again. Achilles proves the more manoeuvrable this time around by nipping around the charge and getting to Systematic Shocker’s side, sliding under the skirt again on an angle, and lifts Systematic Shocker’s right end up. Liam watches with a dead-weight feeling in his stomach as Achilles charges forward sending the tracked robot onto its back.
Achilles seems to be back in the game now, having seemingly turned his opponent’s weapon inside-out, and strolls around to try and have a nick at Systematic Shocker’s side skirt again. Liam backs Systematic Shocker off, but Achilles goes with the flow, and again turns into the skirt, barely getting under it as the lifter opens, but Systematic Shocker backs away too quickly…and Liam guns forward towards Achilles’ exposed weapon; inverted drum or not, this can’t end well!
CRASH!
Oh dear, that didn’t sound good…and it definitely isn’t! The hydraulic ram has been completely knocked back into Achilles’ internals, and by the sound of it snapped it right off the lifting plate! Not a good sign! Alex discerns this quite clearly, but his face is now unreadable as he rams Achilles into Systematic Shocker’s drum again, so at least the drive is still working properly. The drum having stopped again, Liam is saved by the scoop, and he begins to push Achilles back towards the wall again, Alex tries hard to push back, but slowly and surely…WHAM. A dull thunk and Alex has his wedge pinned against the wall again.
Half the match has gone by now, and it’s none too obvious who’s in control of this match, but Systematic Shocker despite being the less maneouvrable of the two has shown good control, and continues to pin Achilles against the wall as The Watcher moves in and separates them himself, and Systematic Shocker is off again to spin up his drum…only to be greeted by Achilles once more as the plate stops the drum in its tracks, not only that but it gets under the scoop as well, and throws Systematic Shocker into the wall opposite! WHAM! The claw prevents Liam’s robot from escaping the grasp as there still is a grasp, even though Achilles cannot lift, and Alex turns to deliver Liam to the pit again, only for Liam to drive out from under the claw and off the side, and spin up the drum again.
As Alex moves in for another side attack, Systematic Shocker suddenly backs up and spins around. Achilles pauses for a second, wondering if this is a well-thought-out plan or a crazy attempt to trick the veteran, then throws himself into the spinning rammer. The side of Liam’s machine whacks against the side of Alex’s, and a second later gets the drum in…only for it to once again hit the wedge and bounce away. Alex moves in…but is foiled by the scoop once more…and now it proves crucial, as Systematic Shocker has him in drect line with the pit! Alex frantically pounds his control, but those S28-400s aren’t overpowering those LEM200s today, and a few seconds later, Achilles is dunked into the hole, and we say good-bye to the first fall-out.
CEASE!
Achilles has been brought to his heels. ;D Systematic Shocker advances to Round 2! -------- -------- Kody: Oi…that looks a mess… Alex: It shall be repaired soon enough. Kody: I hope it really is soon enough. Return soon. Alex: I will when I wish. Kody: And Liam…well, I honestly say I did not see that coming. Liam: Hehe, to be honest, I didn’t either. Steven: They seem like a strong team, so I’ll have to pull the part myself. Kody: And what are your tactics gonna be? Steven: Destroy the wheels, of course. Kody: Good luck. Steven: Ta. -------- -------- Kody: Good day, how goes it? Joey: Aside from showers of mongeese earlier today, I’m fine. Kody: Uh…okay. What do you think of your opponent? Joey: Scottish. Metal. Hedgehog. With a saw. Kody: Erm…sure. Tactics? Joey: Flip him. Once he’s over, that saw won’t help him much. Kody: Good luck, then. Joey: Back at you. Kody: … -------- -------- Roboteers, stand by… Booth #1: Steven McGregor Booth #2: Joey McConnell There’s Obelix Bulguous in the CPZ in the top-left corner, that great hammers can damage loads…and Damocles with those great drums of peril. 3… 2… 1… Activate!Our second battle sees Gabriel flying straight at Spin Dash, as Joey implements his tactics immediately. The sawblade doesn’t get to spin itself up joyfully as the front of Gabriel crashes into it, halting the blade quickly, and stuffing Spin Dash straight up onto Gabriel’s flipping arm! The barbs don’t quite do their job as they scrape at Spin Dash’s underbelly, unable to grab a wheel slot, but Gabriel continues his path towards the arena wall…and activates the arm just before reaching the wall. Could this be the quickest OOTA we’ve seen? Apparently not, as Spin Dash’s rear end saves it, meeting the arena wall halfway up and sliding down, only to be trapped up on its end by Gabriel and held there. Gabriel slowly releases the arm, and Spin Dash falls onto it…Gabriel backs off, hoping to have snagged one of the wheel slots; indeed Joey sees that Gabriel feels a bump as one of Spin Dash’s 6 wheels travels over the barbs, but it’s unable to capitalize as Spin Dash falls completely off the arm and moves away, desperate to try and get an attack in, and that blade is now spinning up quite fast. Gabriel zooms in again to attack, but this time Steve is ready, and as Joey’s bot enters Spin Dash’s personal space quite fast, Spin Dash lives partially up to his name by spinning around, resulting in Gabriel shunting into the side, but sending Spin Dash off to his own side; however Spin Dash was too close to the side and instead of landing further away and moving in to attack one of the wheels, the saw smashes into that said side of Gabriel! CRASH!!!The 7mm HDPE ain’t looking too good after that collision, a wide gash in the armour is clearly seen and Gabriel is spun away slightly, but there’s no major internal damage, as Joey confirms by moving Gabriel around into a U-turn fast enough to make a certain hedgehog cry, but not this time, as Spin Dash ducks away from Gabriel’s side and blasts away, spinning the sawblade back up. Gabriel is in pursuit as Spin Dash drives across the arena, turning past the flame pit as Gabriel keeps the pressure up, gaining ever so slightly on Spin Dash, and then Spin Dash turns sharply. Joey has fallen for it again as Steve spins his sawbot around and throws himself straight over the flipper before it can activate and onto Gabriel’s side. It’s what Steve was hoping for, and Spin Dash finally gets a chance to attack Gabriel’s tires! Gabriel backs off, but Spin Dash is right on his heels, and swerves off to the side. Gabriel can’t turn fast enough! CRASH!Spin Dash is shunted violently away, and it doesn’t look like a wheel was hit, but as Gabriel moves away, there is definitely something amiss. Gabriel isn’t moving quite how Joey wants…and now we see the problem! Spin Dash has smashed off the front castor! Gabriel just ran over it and it’s lying on the arena floor beside Spin Dash, as the Scottish sawbot drives in to muster his powerful blade again! There’ll be no more car-like steering for Joey this match, as Gabriel moves away, depleted of a useful manoeuvring strategy, and Steve grins at how he’s crippled his opponent. Joey isn’t out yet by a long shot, as Gabriel takes another plunge into Spin Dash’s front. Steve keeps the suspense going as Spin Dash stops and tries to manoeuvre around Gabriel’s side, not spinning around for this meeting. Gabriel backs off and allows Spin Dash to come near, but Steve thinks better of this and turns to back Spin Dash off towards one of the CPZs. Might be crazy, might not be, but Gabriel takes the bait and goes after him…and actually gets under him! Spin Dash tried to turn, but the tetrahedric bot was just too fast and rammed into him, and the sawblade doesn’t do much here, only a glancing blow as a few sparks go flying, and Gabriel stuffs Spin Dash into Obelix’s wedge! WHAM! The hammer comes down hard on Spin Dash’s top armour, thankfully withstood, but Gabriel keeps him there, as Spin Dash is shunted onto Gabriel’s flipper, and tossed straight onto the house robot, though thankfully not onto its back. Gabriel exits the CPZ as Damocles comes near, not wanting to take a heavy blow from those drums, and Obelix turns to give Spin Dash another hefty kick in the…head (;D) with the hammer, but Spin Dash squeezes further into the CPZ, right at Obelix’s side…and begins to push, the stationary sawblade slid under the ground clearance! Damocles pauses and backs off, not wanting to damage a fellow house robot as Steve pushes Obelix towards it. Gabriel shoots in to take advantage of Spin Dash’s distraction, and finds that Steve isn’t all that blind because Spin Dash backs away as Gabriel comes in from the side. Spin Dash moves in to push Gabriel, and sends him straight towards Obelix who has turned right around to give his victims wrath…WHAM! That didn’t look good. Nor did it sound good. Let’s see…oh dear…Gabriel has just suffered some major exterior damage as the side panel has taken a gaping hole from where the hammer was just pulled out. Gabriel wiggles around like a catfish bouncing around on a shoreline, but he’s not slippery enough to shake off Spin Dash’s grip, who’s pushed him yet again into the house robot, and up the house robot’s wedge! This proves to be a mistake as the hammer axle swings around and belts Gabriel on the underside edge, knocking him straight off and to Spin Dash’s own side, who’s just been hit by the hammer rather gently. Steve turns to attack but finds Gabriel gone across the arena, and slamming into the pit release button, opening the pit. Obelix and Damocles return to their respective CPZs, and Spin Dash rockets across the arena towards the spot where Gabriel is; Gabriel moves out of the way causing Spin Dash to nearly slam into the button himself, he backs off and avoids Gabriel’s own charge as he moves in, and goes too fast for Spin Dash to take advantage of, swerving around for a fresh assault. Spin Dash barely avoids the arena saws that pop up and seemingly goes to meet the impaired wedge head-on, though tricking Joey once again and sliding off-course slightly, straight towards the left side! WHUP! I don’t think Joey liked the sound of that, and as Gabriel turns, he seems to be further impaired…and the cause? Bits of rubber that have been smashed straight off the wheel…followed by the whole tire tread! Steve clenches his fist in triumph as Spin Dash has hit the jackpot, targetting directly where he wanted to, straight into the wheel and slicing the rubber straight off! Joey is noticeably flustered, and tries to counter-attack, but it’s pretty hard when the wheel doesn’t touch as low to the ground as the tire did meaning you’ve only got 1WD! Steve moves in for the kill as Gabriel is only moving in circles, trying to spin around to line Spin Dash up with the flipper, as it seems to be his only hope, as Spin Dash goes to make another feint with the swerve-and-attack-the-wheel tactic, but Gabriel is lucky as Spin Dash drives straight into the front and up onto Gabriel’s flipper! And this time, it appears that Spin Dash is indeed stuck on the barbs! Some of the tires are moving, but some definitely aren’t, and Spin Dash is now rather helpless, the blade spinning but doing jack-all to the air! It’s just too bad Gabriel can’t take advantage of this since he’s half-dead himself! ;D The Watcher moves in to separate the two, but it’s not working, as Spin Dash is firmly trapped on the flipper. The Watcher gets his lifting arm into play, lifting up the rear end of Spin Dash…and the spinning sawblade hits Gabriel’s top! CRASH!Not a major hit, but it’s finally gotten Spin Dash off the wedge, and out of trouble, as Gabriel is spun around again slightly. Joey turns Gabriel around as fast as he can, but Spin Dash proves that he’s quite the faster now as he quickly nips around to Gabriel’s right side and smacks into it! WHUP! And Gabriel stops moving. I think that hit was the clincher for Spin Dash, as he’s just disabled Gabriel’s drive completely. He pushes Gabriel from the exact same side he just hit, and it’s clear that he’s scored another jackpot – more sliced rubber emerges from the underside of Gabriel, and there’s nothing he can do now, as Spin Dash pushes, and pushes, as The Watcher keeps up, and the count-down starts…a bit too late, ref. ;D A few more inches, and Gabriel is plunged into the deep depths of the pit. CEASE! Mr. Lucifer won’t be pleased with Gabriel III’s performance today, no sir. ;D Spin Dash Unleashed advances to Round 2!-------- -------- Kody: What happened out there? Joey: I got amputated, that’s what. Oh well. Kody: Hope you return. Joey: I do too. So long, chum. Kody: Well, Mr. McGregor, you sure showed us quite the act! Steven: Indeed I did, m’lad. Battle 3 The 6isc vs. Dolce
-------- -------- Kody: How’sa boy, Frank? Frank: Good, ta. Kody: And how’s your robot today? Frank: About to smash that axebot into oblivion. Kody: That confident, eh? Frank: Not really, I just like to scare my opponent. Kody: Right…good luck to you. Frank: Mm-hmm. -------- -------- Kody: Hey hey, how’s it going? Chezza: Just fine, thank you. Kody: How d’you feel about going up against The 6isc? Chezza: Honestly, I’m a bit nervous. Kody: Aw. Tactics for the fight? Chezza: Um…axe him to hell. Kody: Heh, good luck. Booth #1: Frank Goacher Booth #2: Chezza
Ancalagon the Black, 800kg, mighty multi-weaponry, and alongside him is the big Double Big Mac, the whirling dervish of the house robots.
3… 2… 1… Activate!
Chezza has no specific tactics, so Dolce comes flying straight out of its spot straight towards the barbell bot. The 6isc in response turns and ducks out of the way as Dolce flies in, and a bit too far in, actually, as it almost smacks into the wall, and The 6isc quickly tries to capitalize on that, but Dolce makes a back-up of its own and The 6isc ends up eating air. Now Dolce turns to attack the hubs of The 6isc but is met with The 6isc’s own turn, and it backs away as Frank moves around towards the side. Dolce however is quite manoeuvrable itself and as Frank charges down towards the side, it stops quickly as the axebot turns to face it.
It doesn’t look like either can outmanoeuvre the other, so Frank decides to scrap his tactics for now and try attacking anywhere he can rather than just the sides, and resumes his charge; Dolce moves back in an arc in answer, but The 6isc’s wheels smack into Dolce’s side and turns The 6isc straight towards Dolce! Dolce fires the axe immediately, the axe blade slamming down onto the axle! WHAM! Frank replies by following up with a smash in Dolce’s front wedge!
CRASH!!!
That hadda hurt…no? Dolce was sent flying backwards with that hit, but there’s not really any damage done to the wedge. Similarly, The 6isc’s axle seems to be just fine, but it won’t be for long as Dolce barges headlong into the disc, fitting in nicely between the hubs and stopping it from spinning up. Frank turns The 6isc back, but Dolce is following it in the front, and Chezza in his excitement fires the axe. Not exactly effective, as the axle gets in the axe’s way and stops it by the handle, but The 6isc is pushed straight towards…the flame pit!
As the flames lick The 6isc’s hubs, Dolce releases him over it and gives him another WHACK, this time dead on as the point connects dead-center with the middle of the axle! When the axe is withdrawn, the damage is quite visible: a dent in the axle, but luckily nothing done to the battery bar inside. However Frank isn’t too pleased with that cheeky throw, and moves The 6isc towards its adversary in a rage. Dolce decides to meet him head on, and the wedge smacks straight into the disc yet again!
CRASH!!!
This time, Dolce is flung significantly far back as The 6isc remains relatively motionless, but comes in for another attack, only to find that Dolce is very much alive and kicking, indeed kicking The 6isc in the face with the slightly dented wedge now, hitting a wheel hub this time but nonetheless hitting the disc at an angle, halting its spin-up, and shoves Slammer’s most hated enemy across the arena, and straight onto the saws near the pit! BZZT! They strike the Hardox hubs but it’s unclear whether the tires were sawed or not. Frank’s machine is flung aside, gratefully, away from Dolce’s ramming fury and right beside it, unfortunately unable to capitalize due to the stopped disc, and jets away to get it going again.
Dolce decides not to chase The 6isc, and instead slams into the pit release button at the other end of the arena, which activates the pit descent. The 6isc has its…disc ;D spinning back at maximum potential again and heads in Dolce’s direction. Dolce does not wait for The 6isc to make its way over to it, but instead greets the barbell bot with a menacing shunt straight into the whirling blade!
CRASH!!!
And this time, Dolce is definitely the worse off, as it’s been knocked onto its back! The 6isc moves around as Dolce brings up the axe to self-right, and smashes it again!
CRASH!
Dolce is overturned again, and The 6isc positions itself right beside Dolce, ready to attack. However Chezza does not self-right his robot. He obviously, despite being a newbie, knows what’s going to happen and will not risk it…and so Frank does the only thing he can: smacks Dolce again!
CRASH!!!
Dolce is knocked right side up and jets away immediately before The 6isc can attack again, however it’s not looking too good for the axebot. The wedge is even more dented than before, and there’s a small gash and another dent in the sides respectively. Chezza hopes to make amends for that as Dolce does a 180, just in time for The 6isc to crash into it like a bat from hell!
CRASH!!!
Once again, the axebot is thrown onto its back, unable to move like a turtle on its own back, and waits for Frank to knock it back over. However, Frank turns The 6isc around, and moves in with the disc spinning the opposite way. Chezza immediately fires the axe, righting Dolce but too late to avoid another hit!
CRASH!!!
It’s the top of the side of Dolce that takes it, and the news is not well: a medium-sized gash is carved right through there, as well as the disc making fun of the now seriously warped front wedge. Dolce is ready though, and The 6isc is momentarily stunned by its own blow, giving Dolce the chance it needs. It barrels into The 6isc and begins to shove it across the arena again…straight towards Double Big Mac! The 6isc jets backwards, hoping to outrun Dolce to the CPZ and turn away just in time…but Dolce fires the axe and clamps the axle, pinning it! Inexorably, The 6isc is forced straight into the storm of hammers!
CRASH!!!
Frank’s chances have turned rather grim now: the inner hub of The 6isc’s right side has been bent in by the blow, pinning its own wheels and pulling it into a 2WD on one side. Good strategy by Chezza for using the CPZ to his advantage, and feeling rather confident pushes The 6isc further in, and trapping Double Big Mac. Double Big Mac pushes back, but his drive is unable to counter Dolce’s, who espies Ancalagon approaching and gets the hell away, but The 6isc despite having a one-sided drive manages to spin itself out of the CPZ and out of danger…but not for long as Dolce rockets back in to push it back there! Chezza however fails to notice that the disc is spinning!

And Dolce has been flipped again, but it’s also sent The 6isc straight back into Double Big Mac, who despite being unable to spin is pushing Frank’s machine towards Ancalagon, who is coming closer…Dolce rights itself…just a bit too late as one of Ancalagon’s discs clips its rear!
CRASH!
The force sends Dolce straight back over with the axe; Chezza tries to self-right but as the axe retracts, Dolce tilts up and just falls back over. The 6isc meanwhile is too late to escape as Ancalagon clamps down upon the axle, and drags it over towards the saws in the middle of the arena. Dolce again rights itself, in a rather stylish leap, as Double Big Mac starts to spin up again. Frank can’t escape the grasp of the mighty house robot and is helplessly dragged over the saws! BZZT! OH! The tires have been shredded! Bits of rubber have come off! Not the whole tire, but at least some rubber is gone. Ancalagon releases The 6isc at that moment in time, but Frank can hardly breathe again before Dolce screams in again to slam into him and push him all the way back across the arena and…INTO THE DISC OF DEATH!

The outer hub on the damaged side takes hit…with a fairly large dent afterward, but it’s spun The 6isc overtop of Dolce, who fired the axe too late and made a little hop as the axeblade hit the ground. Frank spins The 6isc around, knowing that Chezza won’t be able to push him properly without hitting the disc first: perhaps Chezza knows that too, as Dolce recklessly plunges into it wedge-first!
CRASH!!!
OOH! DOLCE HAS LOST ITS FRONT WEDGE!!! Oh dear! The curved wedge finally bows after taking so many punishing blows from the disc, look, you can see the panel lying on the ground near the floor flipper! But Dolce is relentless, and pushing against The 6isc, shoving it straight towards the saws in the middle again! BZZT! The 6isc gets sliced n diced yet again, yet can’t counterattack – OOH! The shredded tire has fallen off completely! Not the wheel, but the tire rubber is separated from it! Is this the end of The 6isc? Not yet, as Frank still can move The 6isc around, sluggishly, and maybe in a circle, yes, but he’s still moving! And Dolce is again moving, yet slower than before…wait, is The 6isc’s own weapon working? Yes, it’s spinning up now, but – BZZT! Oh no! The 6isc can’t get away from the arena saws! More sparks and –
CRASH!!!
And that’s the end of one of our saws. The 6isc just smashed it clean away from the arena floor with its disc, yet sent himself bouncing away, and Dolce is after it, eventually reaching it and as a bonus before the weapon could spin up, and turns to get it in line with the pit…unfortunately Dolce can’t do that as - BZZT! Now Dolce gets hit by the saws! Aah…sparks…Dolce’s line with the pit is broken completely, but it decides to give The 6isc to an empty CPZ nonetheless…and Ancalagon dashes out of his own again to lay the hurt down on Frankie.
With hardly any way out of this one, Frank can only watch as the jaws clamp down on the axle again, and this time Ancalagon’s flamethrower comes into play, torching The 6isc as it carries the barbell bot away from the corner…AND RUNS OVER THE SAWS ITSELF?! Stupid dragon, you don’t kill yourself! ;D Ancalagon moves away from the saws quickly, but releases The 6isc over them, who gets hit again…BZZT! More sparks off the hub…and…The 6isc, are you mobile at all? Dolce moves in to check…bump. No movement, but time is ticking down…
10…9…8…7…
Dolce gives it a whack with the axe, denting the Hardox bar badly, yet still no sign of life from Frank’s bot, though he twiddles with the controls furiously.
6…5…4…
Chezza lays the hurt on Frank some more with a few more axe blows, and the Hardox axle ain’t looking too good itself, and then Dolce moves against The 6isc and turns it around to face the pit.
3…2…1…
Dolce tries to push, but due to the partial loss of drive it can’t get there fast enough, and gives it one more whack for good measure.

3… 2… 1… Activate!
Here’s the last Round 1 match, and it’s Nitro-Gene who blasts off like a rocket, straight towards the spinning ring of PsycloniZer, who jets out of the way before the ring can get stopped. The 22mph speed, having already been achieved, carries Nitro-Gene too far and he slams into the wall near PsycloniZer, who is now at full speed and intends to make Paul pay for such a mistake. Paul turns Nitro-Gene the right way around, and has no option left except to box-rush…or does he?!
There’s a newfound glint in Paul’s eyes, and they are targeted on…Exa-Gore-Ic! Nitro-Gene turns tail and shoots straight into the CPZ, sliding under Exa-Gore-Ic’s left side claw and beaching it! PsycloniZer makes like a tornado and whirls in on him, but Nitro-Gene tosses Exa-Gore-Ic up onto him, and Exa-Gore-Ic is now directly situated on top of the rear-hinged flipper. Of course, this still gives PsycloniZer a clean shot as Nitro-Gene’s rear end is still exposed, but no longer: another flick of the flipper and Exa-Gore-Ic falls onto the rear, robbing Andy of a clean shot, and the house robot is in major peril here: Asterix flies straight out to help his buddy and make Nitro-Gene pay for his insubordination, but it’s pretty hard when where’s a spinning whirlwind by the name of PsycloniZer in front of you.
Nitro-Gene starts to back up and push Exa-Gore-Ic towards PsycloniZer; Andy realizes the plan and PsycloniZer is reversing away as fast as he can, and it’s quite working as even Nitro-Gene isn’t able to push something that weighs 400kg that easily, especially with the rear end. Asterix is trying to get around to Nitro-Gene’s exposed front, and it’s made that much easier with the heavier weight: and Asterix rams him. Unfortunately, it’s right up onto Nitro-Gene’s flipper, and he gets sent flying across the arena by the flipper. PsycloniZer sees his chance and whirls in…and is copped by a quick turn.
CRASH!!!
No damage really done to Exa-Gore-Ic, but it’s shunted the house robot off of Nitro-Gene and it had the effect that Paul wanted, as PsycloniZer goes flying across the arena, and Paul instantly chases him down. Nitro-Gene rams into PsycloniZer before he can spin up, nicks between two of the hammers and under the main body, and lets out a mighty snort of the flipper, launching the spinner about halfway across the arena and into the arena wall! The speed helps Nitro-Gene catch up with him, but as said before it doesn’t give him the best control, and thus Nitro-Gene again crashes into his foe but on an angle, and deflects him away.
The house robots have lost control as well, and are doing whatever they please: in this, going after the competitors: Exa-Gore-Ic after either competitor, and Asterix specifically after Nitro-Gene! PsycloniZer is spinning again, but Exa-Gore-Ic is quite near and doesn’t want to get hit again, and so comes after Nitro-Gene. Nitro-Gene however uncontrollable still has thr velocity factor, and smacks into PsycloniZer, going for the full box-rush this time!
CRASH!!!
And after that hit, it’s not so surprising to see why Psyclonised won Mechanical Noise Series 1! The right side front panel of Nitro-Gene is gone, smashed away, to reveal what’s under it: about 30mm of urethane rubber padding! Nitro-Gene’s been spun away, and gives PsycloniZer more room to spin up. Nitro-Gene whips around to find the ringer back at full speed, and closing in! Box rush? Yep. ;D

Only it’s been hit in the same place as before! The rubber is torn right open, completely exposing the internals of Nitro-Gene from that side! …ahh…I think there’s some internal damage already done to Nitro-Gene, as the rubber padding has gone straight into the right front wheel and jammed it! Not good. Sensing his opponent’s death, PsycloniZer spins up again, but Exa-Gore-Ic has gotten to Nitro-Gene first and intends to make him pay for before! The claws clamp, and squeeze into the sides of the box as it tries to get away! Oh! There’s Exa-Gore-Ic’s pneumatic spike, and it’s poking the side of Nitro-Gene viciously! Don’t know if there’s any damage yet…
Asterix isn’t going to be left out either and slams into Nitro-Gene front again; unwise, as Nitro-Gene gives Asterix a giant toss across the arena…and Asterix is beached on his side again! Something has to be done about that…and PsycloniZer is reaching for Nitro-Gene, almost seeming to extend the spinning hammers gracefully as it approaches. Nitro-Gene is held in place by Exa-Gore-Ic, who roughly shunts the flipper straight in there!
CRASH!!!
Well what do you know? The other side took it, but PsycloniZer gets shaken up a little, kind of unstable, but is able to balance himself, whereas Nitro-Gene’s front end is looking quite miserable without both front panels, and one without the rubber protecting it…Exa-Gore-Ic keeps going though, straight into PsycloniZer, and Nitro-Gene scoops him up! They’re heading towards the arena wall! Nitro-Gene aims…and flips…
Unfortunately, it’s not his game today. PsycloniZer bounces up off the railing, and lands back in, right beside Nitro-Gene. He scuttles off, unspinning, towards Asterix for whatever purpore necessary…The Watcher crashes into Exa-Gore-Ic waving the red card! Uh oh! Ah…hang on a minute, what’s going on with Exa-Gore-Ic? He’s not letting go of Nitro-Gene? …actually…he’s completely dead! Exa-Gore-Ic is dead on his feet – er, wheels! The claws are locked in place and Nitro-Gene tries to extricate himself, the claws haven’t pierced the armour yet, and FINALLY is able to get away from the broken 400kg bot…and something weighing 106kg slams into his side! It’s Asterix Heroicus, and he’s quite angry! He’s able to slide under the skirts, and shove Nitro-Gene INTO THE DISC OF DEATH!
CRASH!!!
Say buh-bye to a few more panels, Paul! In fact, it’s one panel that’s been shattered into smaller pieces, yes, a Hardox panel being shattered! Oh dear, we didn’t see this coming, and neither did Paul…and I don’t think Andy did either. Speaking of Andy…come on spin up, there…can he not spin the hammers up again? Oh dear…PsycloniZer’s lost his weapon power! But Nitro-Gene’s movement has been weakened considerably; nonetheless, he hurtles towards the once-mighty spinning ring of PsycloniZer, smacking into one of the hammers, and pushing it, and pushing it…and slowly coming to a halt.
PsycloniZer backs off, and we can see the damage that has been done: one of the LEM130s powering Nitro-Gene has been struck – or, in fact, Nitro-Gene impaled himself on PsycloniZer’s hammer when ramming him, and smacked off the wires that gave power to the batteries…and somehow, that’s disabled the drive completely, whether taking out all the batteries, or shocking the motor mount, it’s done something wrong, and Paul can’t figure it out. And The Watcher comes in, and decides enough is enough: it’s lights out for Nitro-Gene as the countdown begins! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!
And Asterix Heroicus shoves his way in, pushing the broken flipper past PsycloniZer, who is grateful to win by a lucky shot, as Nitro-Gene is rested on top of the pit: Asterix backs into the button…and Nitro-Gene descends to the depths of hell!

Forget a turbocharger, Nitro-Gene 4.0’s gonna need a complete overhaul after that! ;D PsycloniZer advances to Round 2! -------- -------- Kody: How’re you feeling? Paul: Miserable.
