Battle 1Salamander III (1) vs. Axeon (13)
Salamander III (1) is the current champion with, count ‘em, NINE straight wins here. In this tournament he has defeated: - Kan-Opener (with B2B) - Tornado - Disco 5 Axeon (13) is our thirteenth seed, losing to Aquarius in a Heat Final last time around. In this tournament he has defeated: - Axe to Fall (with Wedge Devolution) - Hellbrand - Wedge Devolution Who will be victorious? Let’s find out! Roboteers, stand by... Booth 1: Salamander III Booth 2: Axeon House Robots: Double Whamlet, Obelix Bulguous 3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!!!And so our competitors are after each other faster, much faster, than as fast as the tournament started. It’s Axeon, accelerating out of his spot so fast it makes him seem like a blur, who charges into the champ. Salamander turns around and just moves of range, its wheel cutting an arc in front of Axeon’s wedge as it passes by. With its disc nearly up to speed, Salamander tries to turn around and strike Axeon, only to find Axeon has moved right behind him! Alarmed, Alex tries to rush away, but CLANG! Axeon brings down the axe, right onto Salamander’s disc! It’s foiled by the hardox, but nonetheless it manages to stop the disc from achieving anything other than becoming stationary. With the champ firmly in its grasp, Axeon heads over to one of the CPZs, raising the axe as he does so. Eventually Salamander gets pushed into Double Whamlet. Obelix Bulguous remains where he is, waiting. WHACK! The twin axes fall, right onto the axle of Salamander but no damage gets done to the 3mm hardox. CLANG! Axeon uses its own axe now, but again no damage is dealt. It seems Obelix is tired of waiting around because he’s left the CPZ and...slammed right into Axeon! BANG! The hammer falls...and misses! Instead it’s the hammer axle that smacks into Axeon’s top and bounces the hammer back! Axeon can’t seem to turn around, and seems to be trapped...OH! Axeon is pushed into Salamander, and the champ is on Axeon’s wedge now, supported by Whamlet! Axeon withdraws the axe and fires it again, only to copy Obelix and hit Salamander’s axe with his own axe arm. Obelix pushes, and Whamlet pushes, and Axeon is now breached at the rear by Obelix’s wedge and Salamander falls out of harm’s way! This means that Whamlet is sent into Axeon’s front. He hastily gets out of the way as Axeon fires his axe again, missing. Obelix has had enough fun for now and retreats back to his CPZ as Salamander runs rabid across the arena, flywheel now spinning freely. Axeon spins around, leaves the CPZ edge, and rams him at the wheel, raising it. WHACK! Another good axe blow, and this time, there’s some damage! A nice dent in that 3mm hardox, right in the middle of the axle! Talk about getting in the middle of things! ...okay, bad joke. Anyway, here’s Salamander now, about to make Axeon pay for that hit. Axeon backs off, and tries to turn and move away from the incoming hazard, but Salamander is too quick. CRASH!!!Ah, our first real blow, and it’s quite a lovely one at that, sending countless sparks flying across the arena instantly! Axeon is spun around viciously, now having the rear end exposed. This gives Salamander another opportunity to spin up his disc, and Alex beams. Unfortunately, that hit didn’t really do any damage to Axeon’s wedge. AJ backs Axeon up, quite fast, reversing ramming Salamander with his enemy’s disc half-spun up. CRASH!Not bad, but the titanium/vanadium rear only takes a small dent from that rather weedy blow. This also turns Axeon around again. It’s AJ’s turn to beam now as Axeon rams into Salamander and wedging him sends the champ flying into the wall! WHAM! Salamander ricochets off the top, almost pulling a wheelie, and gets away before any more harm is done to him. Axeon gives chase once more, and that drive of Axeon’s is working like a charm because Salamander can’t seem to get away from Axeon’s advances. Alex then suddenly tries something risky. Salamander starts to drive himself into Axeon’s wedge, and he goes right up onto it – hey hey! We have a gliding Salamander! A nice tactic from Alex, the disc barely hitting the floor but enough so to send Salamander off the wedge and out of harm’s way! And you know what else? The disc is still spinning. A slight shock for AJ, but shaking it off he bores down upon the axlebot, confident that the front wedge can take many a beating. CRASH!!!Axeon crashes into Salamander’s disc, and gets sent flying across the arena, the wedge seemingly impervious to those harsh blows. Another spin-up, and Axeon is back at him again, but Salamander arcs away with a clockwise spin, Axeon going right by him. Salamander doesn’t wait for the disc to hit top speed, instead taking the advantage while it’s there for him...which it now isn’t. Axeon gets away...and stops a metre later, faced with the arena wall. He turns. Not swiftly enough, I’m afraid. CRASH!!!!WHOA! Now that’s just cruel! Axeon’s side takes a huge hit, and receives a wide gash across the center, exposing the drivetrain inside! Not only that, but it’s smacked Axeon against the wall, the damaged side up against the arena wall! Salamander retreats away as Axeon gets off the wall and comes at him, AJ teeming with rage. Salamander makes an arc again, to try and fool the leader of Team , but Axeon is going to be that easily fooled again. Axeon drives right into Salamander and wedges him – whoa! Salamander’s disc hits the ground again, sending the champ across the floor and away from the dangerous axe which – CLANG! – came down just as Salamander spun off the wedge. A tad too late, I’m afraid, Mr. Jackson. Axeon makes a U-turn and box-rushes the now fully potent flywheel. CRASH!!!Well, it seems that it isn’t completely damage-proof after all. It’s very small, but there is a dent in that wedge, now visible after seeing a display of those beautiful sparks again. Axeon’s spun again, but it’s a 360 and he rushes Salamander again immediately afterwards. Salamander spins to the other side, but Axeon stops, lines the front wedge up quickly, and charges his adversary. WHAM. He’s got ‘em, and he’s taking ‘im to the cleaners! WHAM! Salamander is smacked into Obelix’s CPZ! Obelix greets the axlebot with a wedge to the rear and a BANG – ooh. It sucks to miss, doesn’t it Obelix? Axeon however isn’t going to miss this chance and tackles the champ disc-first, bringing down the axe. WHACK! The axle takes punishment once more, as Salamander lays there helplessly, left to the spoil of the axes! Whamlet charges at Salamander’s side from across the entire arena, and Axeon sees his chance. He backs off, and before Salamander can get away from Obelix, in comes Whamlet with the plow – WHAM! Another tackle, and Axeon moves in, gets the near wheel of Salamander...WHACK! It’s good! A direct hit on the wheel, and the rubber is sliced right apart! WHACK! Whamlet adds to Alex’s misery, causing another slight dent in the axle. BANG! Obelix finally lands a blow on the disc, but it’s ineffective. Axeon retracts his own axe and lets it fly again. WHACK! The aluminium boron carbide wheel is smacked, getting damaged quite nastily! 10...9...8...7... Whamlet retreats away, as he’s taken his fill, but Axeon ain’t nowhere near done yet. WHAM! Salamander is smacked against the wall in the CPZ. 6...5...4... WHACK! A hit on the disc from Axeon! No damage. BANG! A hammer blow from Obelix! Still no damage. 3...2...1... Axeon lands in another blow. WHACK! A hit on the axle, and one of the previous dents is made bigger... CEASE! Ah, doesn’t look good for our champ, but let’s see what went down with our judges. Battle 2 Killotine: EVO (9) vs. Cosmic Thunder 2
Killotine: EVO (9) is seeded ninth. Also a Heat Finalist in C&B1 who fell to now ex-champ Salamander III. In this tournament he has defeated: - Fragmentor (with Flick of the Wrist) - Bloody Tears 2 - Axe-O-Lotl
Cosmic Thunder 2 is a rookie vapourbot and has done quite well here, joining brother Flank Attack: DT. In this tournament he has defeated: - Shovearound 2 (16) (with Knightrous Wedge) - Metal Sonic Spin Dash - Knightrous Wedge
Classic axe versus flipper, but only a really good battle will reveal the winner here.

Booth 1: Killotine: EVO Booth 2: Cosmic Thunder 2
House Robots: Tira-san, Double Big Mac
3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!!!
The match starts with both robots whirling around, trying to find an opening in the other’s advances. It’s Killotine who makes the first brave charge, straight around Cosmic Thunder’s side, however Alex turns his wedge around so he can keep Killotine locked-on, and as Killotine halts to turn, he charges. Unfortunately Killotine turns a bit too fast for Alex and they both meet wedge-to-wedge. What makes matters worse for Alex is that great big dirty axe that’s coming down on him! WHACK! The 9mm Lexan is pierced! Killotine, with his prey, drives it into the wall. WHAM. However this doesn’t solve much other than the fact that Steve’s got Alex pinned there. Neither can get under the other, and Killotine goes for another hacking. WHACK! The same spot as before, and the hole is widened. Cosmic Thunder tries to push back, but Killotine ain’t letting him get away yet. Up...up...up goes the axe...and then down again! WHACK! Same spot, and the whole axe head is lodged in there now. With that said and done, Killotine now takes Cosmic Thunder from the wall, pinning him in place with the axe, and looks around for a dangerous spot to put Alex’s bot in. Ah, why not, the arena saws. Cosmic Thunder struggles but to no avail, and pretty soon...BZZT! Ah, lovely. The 6mm titanium gives way to a soaking of sparks. The Watcher, having seen enough, decides to ram Killotine from the side to release Cosmic Thunder. Rather incensed, Killotine retracts the axe, lifting Cosmic Thunder off the ground a bit as it goes back, and then finally the wedge falls to the ground. Alex hurriedly drives his robot away, unkeen on another and possibly fatal stabbing and sawing. His tires seem to be fine as they manoeuvre Cosmic Thunder around the arena, and eventually we end up back where we started, as both bots are facing each other. Steve, confidently, drives Killotine around Cosmic Thunder, the latter keeping the wedge on him, and following up with a charge mid-way through. Killotine avoids this, just barely, but now Cosmic Thunder has a clear shot at Killotine’s rear! Just how quickly can Killotine react to this? ...not quick enough, as Cosmic Thunder finds the side instead of the rear, and...yep, he’s got under that damned skirt! FLIP! Over goes Killotine, right up onto its back! The axe fires but Cosmic Thunder is right there waiting for him to land, and Killotine collapses right on back onto the flipper. Cosmic Thunder’s going to the arena wall! Here’s the FLIP! Aaaaaand...no. The flip sends Killotine flying into the wall, but definitely not over it, and at a great angle, as Killotine lands on its back, rights itself, and gets away before Cosmic Thunder can really try another attempt at an OOTA. Killotine roams around the arena, stops at the pit release button, spins around, and is nearly bowled over by a rocketing Cosmic Thunder who shoves him right into the button – OH NO! He’s opening the pit, but Killotine has him in line with it! AND – ooohhh...what a close call, as Cosmic Thunder spins away – WHOA! Killotine nearly sends himself in. Cosmic Thunder gets in again, and takes a stab at Killotine’s sides again, but Killotine’s already turned to him and rammed him back. Speaking of stabbing...WHACK! There’s the axe again, and it’s made a hole in a place right beside the earlier hole! Killotine pushes Cosmic Thunder around, and towards the wall again. WHAM. Shoved – HEY! Killotine’s got under Cosmic Thunder’s wedge! Nice breach of security there, Stevo. WHACK! Cosmic Thunder gets hax0red again, and surprisingly in the same place as before, though it’s hard to tell if any additional damage was caused. Killotine has grabbed him again, though, and plans to execute his foe ASAP! Twisting round, he brings Cosmic Thunder back to the arena saws. BZZT! Oho! That just flung Cosmic Thunder away off of Killotine, nearly wrenching Killotine’s axe head off, and...ironically, onto the flame pit. Killotine races after him, putting the axe firmly back into place. Cosmic Thunder, in the light of the flames, blindly lunges out. It proves to be costly, as Killotine tackles him in the side. No skirt penetration, but it’s the axe’s time to shine. WHACK! The Lexan on the other side of the flipper gets it, and Cosmic Thunder isn’t able to pull away in time as he’s grabbed once more by Killotine. Steve then remembers that the pit is open, and shakes his head, wondering why he didn’t take Cosmic Thunder there the second time. This time, however, it’s quite clear what Steve’s intentions are, and try as Alex might, it doesn’t look like he’s going to be to escape his ultimate fate. Killotine lunges towards the pit, Cosmic Thunder with the axle lodged in the Lexan, and unable to fight against the tug of Killotine’s axe is shoved down...BOOM!
CEASE!
Cosmic Thunder 2’s last remaining charges have fizzled out. Killotine: EVO (9) advances to the next round!!!

Battle 3 A Night at the Bar vs. SUNCUST
A Night at the Bar is our friendly neighbourhood axlebot spinner, except when he’s in the arena. In this tournament, he has defeated: - Son of Wedgie (with Spawn Again) - Mousey 4 - Turbo Tails (12)
SUNCUST is that Diesector-with-skirts-without-hammers thing. Not to be underestimated when you think about it. In this tournament, he has defeated: - Stinger (with Malaria) - Warrior SKF (8) - Malaria
No need for long intros, let’s get to the fight!

Booth 1: A Night at the Bar Booth 2: SUNCUST
House Robots: Ancalagon the Black, Asterix Heroicus
3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!!!
SUNCUST immediately dashes from the get-go, and surprises Martijn by slamming into Bar and grinding the weapon to a halt; seems that Bar wasn’t fast enough to prevent this. Oh boy, those jaws look huge. And they’re about to latch onto Bar...who evades the crush. Whew. Tony ain’t about to throw in the towel, though, and SUNCUST pursues Bar across the arena and goes to tackle him. Bar can’t escape the charge this time, but that’s okay because he has eluded SUNCUST long enough to get that ferocious bar spinning up to max RPM, and it hammers SUNCUST’s front on impact! CRASH!!! What a hit, and plenty of sparks for sure, but SUNCUST shakes it off completely, none of the 12mm titanium broken, damaged, or even moved in the slightest. This pleases Tony, and he confidently drives SUNCUST into the axlebot, to find it’s not there. The same hit had sent Bar flying across the arena, and is far out of SUNCUST’s reach. SUNCUST charges towards Bar, who decides to have a go at the sides but SUNCUST ain’t letting him do that and keeps the front pointed at him as Martijn drives Bar around, looking for an advantage. Bar certainly isn’t manoeuvrable enough to find a way around SUNCUST, but he seems to be more controlled and is trying to get SUNCUST to turn too far, and expose the sides. Tony suddenly takes things into his own hands and drives SUNCUST right towards Bar, who works fast to get to SUNCUST’s sides. Sadly, it doesn’t happen, as SUNCUST whips around and seeing the enemy in front, tackles him. CRASH!!! Bar bounces off, again acting like a “rocking chair on steroids”, as Martijn puts it, and lands near the flame pit. SUNCUST hasn’t moved much from that seemingly glancing blow, and hasn’t been dealt much damage either, in fact hardly any. Bar barely has time to spin up again before SUNCUST roars in again, with another chassis-shattering body slam! CRASH!!! SUNCUST seems to be quite the rammer as well, as Bar goes flying, but only a little, as the arena wall gets in his way. Oof. Bar is smacked against it. SUNCUST moves in, but Bar turns one of wheels towards SUNCUST. This really sounds improper, as Martijn clearly wanted to keep the wheels away, but now we see that Bar has just moved away from the jaws. So, in fact, Bar just needed more room to manoeuvre, that’s all. SUNCUST however is displeased with this current state of events. Though his enemy apparently cannot damage him that much, he can’t seem to catch Bar and clamp down. Bar spins up again, not wanting to be caught idle, and moves in on SUNCUST, who cuts him and smacks him. CRASH!!! OHH! What’s this?! The jaws of SUNCUST have been hit! And they’ve been given a brutal battering! Bar goes sailing again, and SUNCUST capitalizes on this and goes to ram him, the lower jaw looking rather bent. Bar rolls away...but no! SUNCUST’s caught the middle! And...pushed him into the arena wall! And...the upper jaw is closing! And...it looks like SUNCUST’s jaw is fine after all! And...Martijn groans. Bar is now trapped within the jaws of Tony’s Diesector-look-alike, and SUNCUST knows exactly where to take him. The arena saws, no doubt. Tony steers SUNCUST carefully, so that Bar’s tires over just over the slots, and BZZT! Ooh, nice sparks. Bar’s tires are spinning, and there’s no rubber flying off, but BZZT! Another hit, more sparks. AHA! There goes some rubber, see ya. SUNCUST goes for the other wheel, but gets a slight shunt from The Watcher. He slowly releases Bar, who drives away, and back, and away and back again. Yup, only in a circle, I guess... The weapon is spinning up, though. BZZT! CRASH!!! WHOA!!! Bar just nailed the arena saws with his spinning bar! The result? A HUGE amount of sparks, and one seriously freaked-out Martijn trying to get his bot going from where the drop zone is, but without any traction on one side, that’s gonna be hard to do. And Tony, smirking, believes he has won his fight, and goes to open the pit. WHAM. Yup, down it goes. And here’s The Watcher, disapproving one-wheel movement, with the countdown. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! One down, one to go, as Bar is counted out and eliminated from the rest of the tournament. SUNCUST decides to loaf around and nearly gets flattened by an incoming Asterix Heroicus as he rushes away towards the ruined axlebot, who continues to wheel in two directions: clockwise and counter-clockwise. Ancalagon comes forth as well, and opens his own jaws, which make SUNCUST’s own look small. Speaking of SUNCUST...hey, what the?! Let go of Asterix! You cheeky clamper, you! He just bit into Asterix’s side! Now you know Ancalagon won’t put up with that. Interesting...though Bar is out, his weapon is spinning and he can still move with the one wheel. Ancalagon has left Bar alone and turns on SUNCUST in wrath. SUNCUST, daring the housies even more...shoves Asterix into Ancalagon’s own jaw! HAHAHAHA! Oh, how brilliant is this, what comic relief! Bar is spinning wildly, but that’s all the time we have for this match.
CEASE!
A Night at the Bar gets sent out of the running and into the slammer. SUNCUST advance to the next round!!!

Battle 4 The Disc 5 vs. Infusion
The Disc 5 crashed out early last tournament thanks to Warrior SKF, but he’s definitely made up for it here. In this tournament, he has defeated: - Mass Disctruction Revolution (with Novastorm 2) - Voltronic - Liar
Infusion was upset last time, but he’s back where he belongs: at the top of the rankings. In this tournament, he has defeated:
- Black Panther Queen (with Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2)) - The Crashing Bore - Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2)
This seems to be a grudge match, but it should be good even if it wasn’t.
Roboteers, stand by...
Booth 1: The Disc 5 Booth 2: Infusion
House Robots: Exa-Gore-Ic: AI, Taki-san
3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!!!
Ooh, this looks fun. It’s Infusion who races off towards that irritating barbell-shaped robot, The Disc 5. The Disc greets this huge charge with enthusiasm, charging also. At the last second, Infusion pulls out of the charge and turns, just as The Disc smacks into him. The part he smacked into, unfortunately, was the rim. CRASH!!!! Oh, MAN! What a huge hit! Both bots are SCHMACKED by the raw force of each energy input from the weapons. Let’s take a look at the first signs of damage...what?! There isn’t any damage?! Well...nothing looks out of place on Infusion, The Disc seems whole and, amazingly, untouched...that’s ridiculous! But what’s even more ridiculous is that Infusion’s rim has spun up again! Talk about your durable robots nowadays! The Disc moves in, but Infusion now goes after the wheel pods. Ducking to The Disc’s side, and under the spike, the rim smacks into it. CRASH!!! Ouch! Heavy hit! That side pod is mangled, and ultimately looks ready to fall off, but it’s given The Disc an awesome opportunity to strike while Infusion’s weapon is down. Infusion decides to point the wedge at The Disc instead, as Frank’s creation bashes into him. CRASH! Well! This is an interesting development! The Disc just bounced right off of Infusion’s wedge, into the air, and onto the ground, the disc spinning up again! Aaron laughs, as Infusion still hasn’t taken any damage, the wedge standing right up to that menacing blow. Infusion turns and goes for the other wheel pod this time, the rim back at max RPM. The Disc tries to whip around, but can’t do so fast enough, as Infusion nails it. CRASH!!! Another heavy hit! And again, like the opposite one, it’s mangled, torn right up, but doesn’t look quite ready to fall off unlike the other one. The Disc is spun around, but Aaron speedily steers Infusion away from the incoming Disc...until the rim spins up again. Now we are again treated to a disc vs. disc collision! CRASH!!!! Whoa whoa whoa! I do believe that that was one hell of a blow! The Disc? Still seems to be okay. Infusion? He’s actually been flipped over, but in all actuality is shining, really. This is quite entertaining. Infusion spins the rim up again, but this time, as The Disc comes at him, responds with his own advance using his wedge, and under Kinetic Boost...uh oh. CRASH!!! Well, I also believe that I’ve never seen a flying disc before. Frank’s eyes follow his spinner as it travels into the air, higher than before and lands against the arena wall. Infusion has hardly stopped from that blow, however, and spinning round with the rim in front, now drives it into The Disc’s disc! CRASH! The Disc is swept aside, the weapon...okay. And spinning again. Infusion turns and gives The Disc some wedge under the wheel pods, trying to drive him back into the arena wall, but that won’t stop The Disc’s...disc. Infusion backs up, and...oh no, he’s not thinking – CRASH!!! Another Kinetic Boost of ramming power later and we see The Disc put against the arena wall. Strangely, The Disc’s disc is still spinning, and he lands...right on top of Infusion! CRASH! Again the wedge is hit and takes it like a robot made of iron. That’s because he is. Well, iron alloy, anyway, because that’s what hardox is. Back to the fight, The Disc drives off of Infusion, and makes its way across the arena, spinning that titanium disc up to something fierce. Infusion finds its fetish for wheel pods again and chases them down, eventually outmanoeuvring The Disc and smacking into the one that looks like it’s going to fall off. CRASH!! Which it does! It gets completely ripped away from the triangular wheel set-up and inner pod, and leaves them horribly exposed! Cosmetic damage, eh, Frank? Speaking of Frank...he’s just rammed The Disc into Infusion’s side! CRASH!!! So...many...crashes...oho! He’s flipped Infusion over! This doesn’t really matter, as Infusion is the same either way up, but The Disc keeps at it, weapon spinning up again, but overlate, as Infusion turns and gives The Disc a shove with the wedge. No crash: the flywheel isn’t spun up enough to produce one, and Infusion gives The Disc over to...a CPZ! Taki-san is waiting there, and remembering the first House Robot Rebellion takes The Disc out of the CPZ, past Infusion, and into the other CPZ, where Exa-Gore-Ic is waiting. WHAM! The Disc is rammed into the side there near the CPZ, and falls into the CPZ, and Exa-Gore-Ic...can’t grab him. The Disc is simply too long...Infusion smacks into the pit release to open the pit, but The Disc has already left the CPZ and is out to attack. Infusion’s rim is spinning at full force and so Aaron doesn’t mind that much. CRASH!!!! I am loving these massive disc hits. Infusion is taken for a ride along the arena wall, while The Disc skids across the arena, coming to rest near the wall opposite. THUD. Infusion lands right-side-up, and the rim begins to spin again. Frank seems tired, maybe he needs a mug of ginger beer. Oh, he’s going to put the hurt on Infusion, or maybe it’s the other way around, as the discs meet once again! CRASH!!!! Infusion is flipped again, and STILL is looking sharp. The Disc is, too, as once again he comes towards Infusion. Infusion avoids the in-rush and goes for the newly-exposed wheels. As The Disc turns to ward him off, Aaron makes a U-Turn and moves the wedge along to the other side of The Disc. The Disc turns once again, but again not fast enough to avoid the eventual blow from the rim. CRASH! Rather a slight hit, but it’s torn up the other pod and now that one is about to fall off! The Disc, however, has a huge opportunity and takes it! CRASH!!! Aaron’s face looks pained, as Infusion is tossed again, this time into a 360! What’s worse is that the side has actually been dented severely! Well how about that, The Disc’s aggression paid off! Recovering from that blow, Infusion spins around and spins up the rim at the same time, daring The Disc to come near. Frank decides to have a repeated go at the sides, but Infusion, without giving a signal of any sort, blasts off from his current position, going towards the pods again...and past them?! And even further! The Disc turns, and realizes the real intention of Infusion: getting enough space to give The Disc one hell of a ram! Which he is doing right now! CRASH!!! We have a flying Disc once more, as the barbell bounces high off the wedge and onto the ground heavily. Infusion uses the rim this time and grinds the gears in reverse, striking The Disc’s weapon! CRASH!!! Ah, still not really any damage, but it’s sent The Disc flying, at least. Infusion switches again to the wedge and tackles The Disc as it tries to recover.

WHAM! The Disc is smacked against the wall, and one pod is now on top of Infusion as the rim spins up quickly.

Infusion backs up, turns, and gives The Disc a taste of rim again. CRASH!!! The inner pod takes it this time, and is shredded up.
3...2...1...
The Disc gets spinning again, and pursues Infusion once more, too late to catch him though as time has run out.

Battle 5 Axeon (13) vs. Infusion
Roboteers, stand by...
Booth 1: Axeon Booth 2: Infusion
House Robots: Asterix Heroicus, Obelix Bulguous
3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!!!
A blinding start to say the least. Both come out very aggressively, in fact too aggressively to avoid a frontal collision. WHAM! Both smack against each other, and it’s Infusion with the upper hand, the Kinetic Boost already in effect, as he slides under Axeon’s wedge and smacks him to the wall. WHAM! WHACK! The impact of Axeon against the wall and of Axeon’s axe hitting Infusion’s top are almost in perfect synchrony, except the effects are a little different. Axeon has been pinned to the wall, yet the axe has given Infusion’s top armour a mild dent. Infusion doesn’t seem to mind, though, and quickly slides out from under Axeon which brings Axeon to the ground, but he only has time to catch a breather before the fully-charged rim bursts in from the side! CRASH!!! The ex-champion Salamander III would have been envious if he had seen that blow, for instead of gashing Axeon’s side up, the sheer force has ripped it clean off with just one blow! Of course Axeon has also been jerked away a bit, but that’s nothing compared to the damage that has now been caused! AJ groans, but Aaron looks quite content. Infusion hastily turns and uses the wedge now...to find that Axeon has just gotten HIM! And Infusion, being slid up the wedge, is toppled and lands right back on the wedge, only sideways! WHAM! Infusion gets some wall this time and is pounded against it, falling right back onto Axeon’s wedge. WHACK! Down comes the axe, and HITS A WHEEL!!! OH MAN! That has got to hurt! WHACK! Down against the same wheel, and oh yeah that is some damage, as the rubber is being hacked right off! WHACK! Another hit, but this time on the spinner, doing slim to no damage at all. And hey, Infusion seems to be falling off the wedge and along the wall. Axeon turns and wedges Infusion under the rim for now, and drives him into Asterix Heroicus’ CPZ. Problem? Infusion’s wedge is scraping the ground, meaning Asterix can’t get under him! The biggest thing? Asterix has just been gotten under himself? WHACK! Axeon gives Infusion’s top another great smack with the axe, making another dent, before hitting the wall of the CPZ. WHAM. Asterix is pushed on top of Infusion just as Axeon goes for another axe blow. WHACK! Asterix’s wedge takes it, but withstands it quite nicely. Ooh, ooh, you attacked Asterix, Axeon. Obelix isn’t going to like this one bit. WHAM! Axeon is rammed from behind by the 225kg house robot and this sandwiches Infusion between the wall, Axeon, and Asterix. BANG! OH NO! Asterix has been hit! Obelix backs off slightly, mortified, but it’s okay, Asterix’s wedge has still withstood the blow. This of course allows Axeon to make a break for it, and he does. Infusion follows suit, on an angle slightly as his wheel has been damaged, and Asterix finally meets solid ground, and roams back into the CPZ, eager to stay there. Axeon meanwhile goes for Infusion’s front again, who meets the axebot with his own front and the rim spinning wildly. Guess who prevails? Infusion! WHACK! Axeon is able to give Infusion a hefty blow from the axe again, further denting the top, before he gets a ride towards the wall again! WHAM! Infusion hits him on an angle, causing Axeon to bounce a little, but good for Aaron, as Axeon’s entire rear is Infusion’s for the spoil! Swiftly Aaron backs his robot into it. CRASH!!! Definitely not as damaging a blow as before, but it’s still damage, as a long cut has been carved into Axeon’s rear wedge. Axeon goes to back into him to prevent the rim from spinning up, but Infusion, despite the issues with the wheel, is just able to evade it. Axeon turns to face him, tackles the front and WHACK! Another nice blow and there’s more damage! A hole has been made in Infusion’s top armour! But you know what that means? It means Axeon has just bounced himself into the air and left Infusion at a huge advantage! Infusion wedges Axeon and travels, once again on an angle, towards the arena wall! BZZT! OH! Infusion is struck by the arena saws, and Axeon goes sailing...right back onto Infusion’s wedge. Aaron smirks slightly at this, and carries Axeon to Obelix’s CPZ. AJ tries to get his bot away but can’t now as Axeon is wedged on both robots. Obelix is all too happy to oblige and BANG! WHOA! The axe arm of Axeon just got mashed! Will it still work like before, I wonder? Infusion keeps him there. Asterix isn’t moving from his CPZ though, I think, wanting to stay out of trouble like before. BANG! The top armour beside the axe feels the pain here, and gets severely dented! NOW Infusion turns, and Axeon lands on the rim. WHAP! Ooh, what was that? I dunno, but Axeon has just been spun away from another hammer blow by Obelix...and doesn’t seem to be mobile. Well, this is quite a turn of events. Infusion pauses for a second, then slightly nudges Axeon to see if he’s going to spring back to life. Obviously not. The Watcher barges in and tackles Axeon for some reason, as Infusion weakly spins around in a victory dance, and begins the countdown. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! Obelix now has free roam of the arena, but Asterix again isn’t budging. Is he...moving? Obelix doesn’t care right now, as one shove from the giant hammerbot and Axeon gets a new home at the bottom of the pit.

Axeon is a cut “under” the rest! INFUSION ADVANCES TO THE GRAND FINAL!!!!

Battle 6 Killotine: EVO (9) vs. SUNCUST
Roboteers, stand by...
Booth 1: Killotine: EVO Booth 2: SUNCUST
House Robots: Double Whamlet, Double Big Mac
3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!!!
Both these two robots have the same top speed, very interesting, but will it matter? SUNCUST has blasted right off towards the red axebot, and before Killotine can even turn, it’s crashed into the front wedge, and unfortunately onto it! WHACK! The axe makes a path for the 12mm titanium and nails it, but only leaving a small dent, if that. Killotine’s refined power proves to be much more potent, driving SUNCUST right into the arena wall! WHAM! WHACK! An axe blow again, but just as effective as the last one. Hey! SUNCUST is riding up the wedge of Killotine and right on top, trapping the axe! Or is it? Uhh...WHACK? Killotine’s axe tips SUNCUST off to the side and slams into the arena side wall. Tony must take advantage! And he does! Straight into the side skirts goes the jaw, but I’m afraid it’s no good there either, that jaw just does not seem low enough to penetrate Killotine’s ground clearance, and Steve is certainly looking high and mighty now, as Killotine breaks away from the wall, and applies the wedge around SUNCUST and to the rear corners. It doesn’t quite work out for Steve though as SUNCUST turns with him and has a go at the side again. Thankfully for our Scottish friend the jaws of SUNCUST are still unable to get their act together and under that damned skirting! It does, however, allow Tony to push Killotine across the arena, but only for a little bit as Killotine steers away from the jaws, and points the wedge at SUNCUST again. He bores in on the front corners this time, and is much more successful at getting to them, and even more so at breaching them! WHACK! Steve fires Killotine’s axe quickly, but misses the wheel housing by just an inch, and causing another rather ineffective blow on the 12mm titanium. SUNCUST twists around and off the wedge of Killotine, but Killotine keeps him on the move by chasing him down. SUNCUST turns, and just quickly enough to see Killotine powering down on him. WHAM! WHACK! It’s a stand-off, as the axe tolls again on the armour of SUNCUST, but it is deflected again as well. The jaws at least seem to have done something this time: avoiding going up the wedge, and just keeping it at bay. That’s not going to win you many points, though. Even worse is that he seems to be being outpushed by Killotine, and very slowly at that. Tony sees this and breaks into reverse gear, and turns away, sending Killotine towards the wall. Killotine spins around, but he can’t find his enemy! Just then he’s crashed into in the side by SUNCUST, and this time Tony has struck gold! The skirt is breached, and all for his spoil! Without a second thought SUNCUST chomps down, and maybe it was a bit too soon, as he only gets the skirt! Killotine tries to shove himself away, but Tony pulls his bot back, like a mad Labrador Retriever not wanting to let go of a chew toy, and Killotine nearly avoids a toasting on the flame pit. Steve thrusts the controls here and there, trying every single manoeuvre in the book to free his robot’s side skirt from that mad pooch known as SUNCUST...and he has! Killotine is away across the arena! The problem? He left his skirt behind! SUNCUST still has dibs on it, and realizing that he just removed Killotine’s side skirt opens the jaws and it slides away. Killotine races back in now, Steve looking rather angry, and abandoning all pretence mashes into the jaws of SUNCUST, and those jaws just can’t cut it, as Killotine hauls him off the floor and onto the wedge. WHACK! Oho! A big dent was caused there! And there’s SUNCUST, trying to ride up onto Killotine’s wedge again, but Killotine lets him slide off, before giving the jaws a WHACK with the axe, but that doesn’t seem to have done anything so SUNCUST advances again, this time smacking into the front of Killotine and stopping the pair of them. WHACK! Axe attack! Another small dent, but Killotine will have to do better than that to defeat this rather resistant foe. SUNCUST begins to push back, but he’s not quite up to scratch on power as Killotine is and is slowly being forced back again. But again he pulls the same trick as last time, by turning around in reverse. And once again, Killotine falls for it. Only this time, he DOES hit the wall. And by the time he’s away from it, he’s found something at his side again: SUNCUST’s jaws! The same skirtless side is now fully wedged, the jaws close in, and CRUSH! The 15mm polycarbonate top armour is gripped onto quite nicely by that lovely upper jaw, and now Tony can take him where he wants! Screw the pit, he wants some DAMAGE done to Killotine. Guess where he’s headed? Double Big Mac’s CPZ. CRASH!!! As they reach it, DBM comes out to greet them and the blow dealt to Killotine’s 3.25mm hardox side armour is massive. The panel and other side skirt come flying off instantly, but it sends DBM flying back into the CPZ and onto his back! He has got to get a srimech... ...Double Whamlet is out now, and SUNCUST just turns around to greet him, Killotine trapped helplessly in the jaws. WHACK! Whamlet’s twin axes find the 15mm polycarbonate and strike right through them! That is one powerful twin axe. A lift from the plow arm and both Killotine AND SUNCUST find themselves upraised a bit, as Whamlet forces them back into the CPZ. SUNCUST’s rear end thus meets DBM and sandwiches the house robot spinner. The Watcher decides to burst in at this point and tackles Whamlet. Tony gets the message as well and SUNCUST lets Killotine out from the jaws, and surprisingly Killotine is still mobile, in fact quite mobile. The Scottish axebot spins around and points the wedge at SUNCUST again, driving right into it. Hey hey! SUNCUST is still unable to get under Killotine from that point, and is carried to the wall on the wedge! WHAM! SUNCUST goes flying to the side and back on his wheels, and retreats before Killotine can resume his onslaught. What onslaught, though? I didn’t see the axe come down last time...SUNCUST spins around and this time tries to avoid a frontal collision from Killotine, failing as Killotine slams into him from the corner, penetrating the wedges but the angle is off, sending SUNCUST away early, and he comes around and tackles Killotine. RIGHT IN THE EXPOSED SIDE! Killotine tries to ride out from around the jaws but they close a bit quicker than he expected, and hey, look what Tony caught! Again the top armour crumples in Tony’s bot’s massive power and spikes, and he’s carried off again. DBM gets some help from Whamlet, and the spinner is back on his wheels, spinning those hammers again. Awesome, thinks Tony, and waits for DBM to get to full speed. A few seconds later, and Tony bores across the arena, ramming Killotine into the dervish! CRASH!!! OUCH! Another side panel gone, as DBM goes overboard again, but this time SUNCUST has enough wits to get the hell out before Whamlet makes an appearance.

SUNCUST now goes for the pit, and runs across the arena with the trapped Scotbot in his grasp.

BANG! Pit button nailed...and that’s when The Watcher crashes in from behind, reminding Tony to let go, even now.
3...2...1...
Tony makes a rather obscene hand gesture at the refbot and the jaws open to reveal a very battered, but mobile, Killotine.

Well, that fight was rather unexpected! Let’s see what the judges make of this!
