Shovearound 2 (16) vs. Cosmic Thunder 2 vs. Knightrous Wedge
Shovearound 2 (16) is the last seed of our tournament but that makes him pretty good. He's got 12mm hardox armour, lifting forks that lift 150kg, 4 LEM130s giving it a 28mph top speed, and double skirts to stop wedge attacks. It looks really durable, but isn't it just a TAD overweight...? C&BT1: Shoved the Breed twins down the pit, then took out Tough As Nails, but then a beating from Warrior SKF proved to be its downfall in the Heat F final.
Cosmic Thunder 2 seems to make all his opponents thunderstruck. He's like Voltronic but with a flipper, and 6mm titanium sides and a 9mm Lexan front wedge. Some MagMotors and 2 half-foot wheels give it a 16mph and invertibility, but it can right itself anyway so its weapon can work properly. Its armour is mostly average, though, and it won't have the greatest pushing power if it can't get under something. C&B1: Did not enter.
Knightrous Wedge is a brother akin to Aaron Knight's other wedgebot, The Ultimate Wedge. It goes at 40mph due to a unique hydra-static drivetrain never before featured in an FRA bot, and also uses complicated microchip technology to help it maintain control, even at that high speed. Coupled with multiple Hardox armouring, skirts, and a Slam Job-like shape, this compact design certainly takes "Knightrous" to a whole new level. C&BT1: Rammed the hell out of Toby the T-Ram Engine but then fell to 13th seed Axeon in round 2 of Heat A.

Shovearound goes for Cosmic Thunder, but Knightrous Wedge cuts him off, and both of them are banging into the other's front, but unable to get under. Knightrous Wedge seems to be the more powerful here (*GASP*) and starts to push the FFW4 champ backwards. Cosmic Thunder enters the scene with a shove to Shovearound's skirt but it fails, and Cosmic Thunder drives up onto the skirt. This does surprise Tony enough to try and turn to attack Alex but Aaron bores forward and pushes Shovearound against the wall. Shovearound lowers the forks deeper towards the ground but it's not helping. Cosmic Thunder attacks Knightrous Wedge now, and this time is successful: the skirts of Knightrous Wedge are penetrated, and before Aaron can get the hell away, FLIP! An Aaron bot is upsy-downy! Shovearound pushes the now inverted Knightrous Wedge backwards, and Cosmic Thunder joins in, but Aaron rights his bot almost instantly, and Knightrous Wedge lands away from his pursuers, and turns to face an incoming Shovearound. CLANG. They come together and again it's a stalemate. Cosmic Thunder goes for those lovely skirts of Knightrous Wedge but he doesn't get them on this attempt, and throws himself onto them. Knightrous Wedge is again pushing the other pusher backwards, surprising the crowd. Alex is furious to find out he can't get under the skirts this time and tries again, only for Knightrous Wedge to back into him and throw him off the rear skirt, over the top and right onto the wedge! FLIP! Cosmic Thunder is on his head! Shovearound decides to take advantage of this situation and heads instead for Alex's machine, which runs away from Shovearound but is unable to avoid him for long and activates the flipper, righting him, but right on top of Shovearound! Knightrous Wedge bangs into Shovearound from behind, and tries to force his way under the rear skirting but nothing doing. Shovearound is forced into the wall though, with Cosmic Thunder on top, and WHAM! The forks hit the wall, bending ever so slightly. Shovearound tries to push back, but Aaron's bot is in complete control, and decides to use the flipper to lift up the skirt. FLIP! It works! Knightrous Wedge slides under Shovearound AND Cosmic Thunder, but with the flipper upraised he's not going to be doing much flipping! Shovearound is brought from the wall, but raises the forks in case Cosmic Thunder falls off, but Alex's bot falls to the side instead. Knightrous Wedge throws Tony's bot right into the wall again! WHAM! Aaron smiles, as Shovearound's forks are bent again, this time much more noticeably! This also means however that the flipper ram of Aaron's bot has been rammed against Shovearound's rear as well, and the flipbot releases Team Hitmen's most successful robot. Knightrous Wedge lowers the flipper, and backs away as Cosmic Thunder runs right at him for a frontal assault, and their flippers collide now, and once more a stalemate. Alex knows however that he's not going to be able to outpush a hydra-static drivetrain and twists around in reverse, but Knightrous Wedge hadn't moved at all, but now turns and rams Cosmic Thunder's side as a thank you gift. Shovearound is still very much mobile, and decides to get back in on the action by giving Cosmic Thunder a nice shove with the forks, and sliding under the Dutch bot lifts it up, allowing Knightrous Wedge to slide under it, and the flipper is still working because FLIP! Cosmic Thunder is tossed across the arena and lands near the wall, on its side! Shovearound nervously backs away from the Australian flipper but it rams into Shovearound, as the flipper closes: the forks of Tony's bot look don't look too hot now, but they still manage to repel another ram from Knightrous Wedge as they lock lifting weapons again. Cosmic Thunder thrusts its flipper against the wall, and lands right-side-up and ready for another attack. Aaron decides to do what he did before and FLIP! Shovearound's forks are jolted with great force, pointing skyward! Cosmic Thunder bores in now and rams Knightrous Wedge from the side, unable to get under the skirts but the skirt unable to get under him, forcing another cancel out. Knightrous Wedge once again pushes the forky bot into the wall. Oof. Shovearound tries to lower the forks, but finds it cannot do so! Knightrous Wedge backs off to lower its flipper, allowing Cosmic Thunder to come flying in, and it cheekily slides under Shovearound and tosses it! FLIP! Shovearound lands on his back, forks forced down, but still not working! Knightrous Wedge rams into Cosmic Thunder from the side, and sliding under it, tosses it! Cosmic Thunder does a 360 and lands on top of Shovearound, but slides off it and lets out a mighty snort from the flipper. Shovearound tries to turn away from the wall, and does so, only to meet Knightrous Wedge's front and tilt towards its side, its battered forks foiled by the skirt. Knightrous backs off, lines up, and is interrupted by Cosmic Thunder, who tackles the rear of the Aussie and gets under him! FLIP! Knightrous Wedge goes for a loop, but just as he hits the ground on his back, self-rights. Shovearound comes in to attack but isn't quick enough to take advantage of Knightrous Wedge's invertedness, and finds himself at a skirt! Knightrous Wedge turns and slides under the forks with ease now, and stacks Shovearound onto his wedge. Cosmic Thunder tries to rescue Shovearound...and seems to! He gets under Knightrous Wedge's skirt...but can't seem to flip! Aaron grins, drives off of the Dutch bot towards the wall, allowing Cosmic thunder to let lout another mighty flip through air, and with the push of a button, sends the 16th seeded American over the fence.
CEASE!
Shovearound 2 got shoved around like nobody's business. Cosmic Thunder 2 and Knightrous Wedge advance to Round 2!

Panicking vs. Metal Sonic Spin Dash vs. Powerpoint the Thrasher 5
Panicking will send somebody home crying for their mommy. It's basically real robot Panic Attack with heightened speed, smaller dimensions, and 6W LEM drive. Its armour is 12mm polycarbonate, and its skirts flop over when inverted. It's previously lost to spinners but let's see what this "Panic brigade" has in store for us. C&BT1: Did not enter.
Metal Sonic Spin Dash will fly by you in circles if you're not quick enough. It's a low skirted box, with a front spatula, hooked barbs to catch onto other robots, and a front vertical saw blade like Pussycat to carve into the opposition. When you combine that with 3.75mm hardox armour, 6W LEM drive, 16mph, and a rear CO2 srimech, you've got quite a pestilent hedgehog on your hands, Dr. Robotnik! C&BT1: Let the house robots destroy Vampire Killer, but then 3rd seed Orka MK4 ended MSSD's hopes in the 2nd round of Heat C.
Powerpoint the Thrasher 5 thrashes like a metal band. It's got a nasty spinning disc producing 10kJ, but with sharp teeth to slice n dice. It also has 10mm titanium armour, and skateboard wheels for mobility, plus extra ones not connected to the motors (but still attached anyway) all around the top and bottom corners. It's invertible, but that weapon doesn't look like it could damage either of the armours it's up against. C&BT1: Did not enter.

It's a frenzy immediately as all three machines head to the centre of the arena. PTT5 crashes into MSSD first with the blade spun up! CRASH! MSSD is thrown a little, but no damage, not even to the disc! Panicking immediately takes the proffered chance and slides under PTT5's ground clearance, lifting it up and slamming it into the nearby wall! WHAM! Steve, seeing PTT5 between a wall and a Panicking, decides to open the pit before he has some more fun, backing into it, ah there it goes. Pit descending. Anyway, Panicking has got PTT5 trapped against the wall, the disc not spinning, and MSSD crashes the party by tackling the Thrasher, and slightly throwing Panicking aside. The spatula finds its way under PTT5, and the saw find the corner of the underbelly! CRASH! Just as ineffective a hit as PTT5 gave to him, yet some nice sparks add to the delight of the crowd. PTT5 has been knocked against the wall, but Panicking moves in again before he can get off of the wall...and he seems to be trying to lift PTT5 OOTA! This will be very quick if he does...NO! PTT5 falls off of the forks and...onto MSSD's spatula! The Spin Dash gobbles him up immediately and throws him towards the pit! Matty flicks the controls in alarm but it's way too late to manoeuvre away, especially when you are already at the bottom of the hole. BOOM!
CEASE!
Powerpoint the Thrasher 5 didn't have enough time to show off his supposed 'power'. Panicking and Metal Sonic Spin Dash advance to Round 2!

Knightrous Wedge vs. Panicking
Knightrous Wedge controlled almost the entire fight last time, but it was the favourite, Shovearound 2, who went out instead of Cosmic Thunder 2.
Panicking shoved Powerpoint the Thrasher 5 against the wall, and then Metal Sonic Spin Dash took Matty's machine to the pit.

3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!!
Panicking is the first out, but Knightrous Wedge bursts out a second later, right towards the forks of his adversary! The arm outstrips the forks' clearance and raises them up, as with the rest of the robot, and Panicking is sent skyward! It crashes back down, right onto its back, but that doesn't stop it from working almost the exact same way. Unfortunately, it also doesn't stop Knightrous Wedge's persistance, and the arm penetrates the rear skirt before Panicking has a chance to turn around. This time, however, Aaron does not flip the other bot, but carries it to the wall, and FLIP! But no, for Panicking is indeed slammed against the wall but comes back down, standing on his forks. Knightrous Wedge backs off, but the forks begin to lift, and push Panicking forwards. Instantly, Aaron reacts, as Knightrous Wedge tackles the forks and stacks Panicking against that nice wall again. Panicking however falls right back onto Aaron's bot's wedge. FLIP! Panicking is tossed, but again against the arena wall, and again standing on his forks, which are propelling Martyn's lifter forwards again. Aaron is getting irritated by this, and the big wedge slips under Panicking once more, who falls on him (again) and carries him with the wedge. Panicking struggles to get off, but it seems Aaron has reached his destination: an empty CPZ! Panicking is tossed against the corner and right onto his back again, but he can't escape, as the house robots have jetted out of their own CPZs at that moment Knightrous Wedge sent Panicking there! It's Taki who takes advantage, tackling the skirt near the forks, penetrating it, and lifting up the Panic Attack lookalike. Tira's blade makes an appearance as it slashes Panicking's underbelly! WHAP! ...wait, where's the crash? OHHHHH!!! Panicking is seperated about 25 feet from his right middle wheel! Knightrous Wedge flies in again, seeing an opportunity, and tries to get the lifter under that fully exposed wheel hole, but Taki lets Panicking down. Aaron lowers his own flipping arm and slides underneath the side, tossing Panicking further into the CPZ! (FLIP!) Tira sidles back, blade back at speed, as Martyn is beginning to panic himself. None too keen on letting the house bots have some more fun though is Aaron, and his wedgebot flicks Panicking right up against the wall! (FLIP!) Panicking however comes down, right side up, and his forks are pointing right at Knightrous Wedge's side! Martyn jumps at this, and before Aaron can even blink the forks lift up his bot and hold it high into the air! It's just too bad that Tira had to barge in again. CRASH!!! In the confusion of green and purple sparks, Tira's blade brutalizes the side skirt of Panicking, tearing it clean off and flinging it several metres! Panicking is jolted a little but still manages to keep a hold on Knightrous Wedge, and begins to carry him away from the CPZ! The house robots return to their respective corners as Panicking, prize held high, reverses towards the pit release button, rather slowly and at an angle, mind you, due to inflicted damage...Knightrous Wedge fires the flipper in desperation, and it gives Aaron new life: his underbelly slides away from the tip of the forks, and lands on the ground! Horrified, Martyn directs Panicking and it tackles Knightrous Wedge in the rear, but Aaron steers his bot away and turns it around to face Panicking. Both bots collide but it's Knightrous Wedge who prevails, defeating the forks and flicking over Panicking (FLIP!), but doesn't stop with the forwards velocity, charging into Panicking before he's even landed, and carrying to the wall...FLIP! And this time it's good, as Panicking bounces on the railing and hits the outside floor of the arena.
CEASE!
Panicking really needs to put himself back together. Knightrous Wedge advances to the Heat I Final!!

Metal Sonic Spin Dash vs. Cosmic Thunder 2
Metal Sonic Spin Dash, after help from Panicking, disposed of Powerpoint the Thrasher 5 in the pit to move on.

Each bot starts off immediately trying to go after the other's sides. MSSD spins around, and then spins in reverse to try and outmanoeuvre Alex's machine, to find that he himself has been outmanoeuvred, as Alex had moved at all since moving right up to MSSD, and now does so! Cosmic Thunder attacks the sides, and slides under them, immediately tossing the hedgehogbot right onto its back. The self-righter comes into play, but it falls right back onto Cosmic Thunder's wedge! FLIP! Over goes Steve's bot again! Cosmic Thunder charges forward as he flips, and pushes Steve's bot towards the arena wall, and denies MSSD a chance to regain his footing! MSSD does not right himself, but waits. Cosmic Thunder slides underneath..only a little, and FLIP! MSSD is flicked against the wall, but comes back down, and Steve activates the srimech, and MSSD almost rolls forward...only to meet Cosmic Thunder's wedge again, and FLIP! MSSD is thrown skyward and...OOTA! Short fight that was, ladies and gentlemen! Steve puts his top hat over his eyes in anguish.

Knightrous Wedge vs. Cosmic Thunder 2
Both robots went through to the second round after Shovearound 2 was tossed OOTA. Knightrous Wedge then, after an intrusion by the house robots, finally succeeded in flipping Panicking over the fence, while Cosmic Thunder 2 did the like to Metal Sonic Spin Dash, after only two tries.

Booth 1: Cosmic Thunder 2 Booth 2: Knightrous Wedge
It's a good day for house robots to fight! Double Whamlet and Obelix Bulguous seem to agree.
3... 2... 1... ACTIVATE!!!
Aaron has his robot under control, as Knightrous Wedge drives Cosmic Thunder in a fast-but-not-as-fast-as-he-was-in-the-first-round speed. Cosmic Thunder however appears to be the more controlled, and avoiding a dead head-on charge veers off towards Knightrous Wedge's frontal side! WHAM! Both bots collide, unable to get their flipping weapons under each other, yet the angle that they had met at, and their current velocity sends them twirling away, Cosmic Thunder doing a 180 while Knightrous Wedge does a 270. Aaron turns his bot around to try and take advantage of Cosmic Thunder's rear but Cosmic Thunder does an about face and charges headlong at him. Finally, both flipping weapons slam into each other! And Aaron's prevails! FLIP! A little nervous indeed becomes Alex, as he watches his bot tumble over, but he drives Cosmic Thunder, now landed onto his back, away before Aaron can take advantage again. FLIP! Cosmic Thunder tosses himself up and back onto his proper side, but in comes Knightrous Wedge again! Cosmic Thunder is rammed bu Aaron can't get the arm in, and Alex drives Cosmic Thunder away, looking slightly happier. Knightrous Wedge follows the spacey-looking bot around the arena for a few seconds, when it turns and crashes into him! WHAM! Both weapons meet, and cancel out, sending both bots back a bit. Cosmic Thunder races in to try and slide under that arm, but again it's cancelled out, and Knightrous Wedge shows his power now by shoving Alex's bot towards the wall...Oof. Right into it...oh dear! Knightrous Wedge has landed himself on Cosmic Thunder's wedge on impact on the wall! FLIP! Aaron finds his bot going over, but hammers the flipper button. Cosmic Thunder is pushing the Wedge towards the wall when it tips up...and onto Cosmic Thunder's flipper again! FLIP! Knightrous Wedge is toppled again, and Cosmic Thunder is at the wall now. Oof. Knightrous Wedge is on the wedge of Cosmic Thunder again, but decides to try and right himself off of that. FLIP! Nope. Right back onto the wedge. FLIP! Cosmic Thunder responds with his own flip, but Alex mistimed the flip, as Knightrous Wedge sails BACKWARDS OVER COSMIC THUNDER and not forwards over the arena wall! However Aaron still finds his bot on its back and tries to right it again, and it works, however Cosmic Thunder is driving right at the veteran's rear, and slides under it, taking Aaron's bot towards the wall opposite! Aaron tries to drive backwards and off the top of Cosmic Thunder but too late: FLIP! Knightrous Wedge is tossed, bounces against the wall and tips onto his arm, to fall right down on his back. FLIP! Not on his back anymore! Cosmic Thunder is back in his face however, but the weapons are stalled again by each other, and it's a pushing match. Knightrous Wedge pushes Cosmic Thunder about halfway across the arena, before backing off and heading in reverse for the pit release button. Cosmic Thunder blows by him but going too fast hits the arena wall. Oof. Knightrous Wedge reaches the pit release and hammers it. Siren sounds, pit descends, you've all been there. Anyway Cosmic Thunder is again at Knightrous Wedge's side, and again defeats the clearance...FLIP! Oh, but Knightrous Wedge had moved and just got caught by the flipper, being thrown up, but not quite over, and now turns to face Cosmic Thunder, who is coming at him again. However it's Cosmic Thunder this time who is defeated, as he runs right up onto the wedge...and on top of Aaron's bot! Aaron turns around and BACKS TOWARDS THE PIT! IF HE GOES DOWN IT'S ALL OVER - NO! Ohhhh...Cosmic Thunder just gets away off of Knightrous Wedge's left side, and goes already to thoughts of attack, ramming the side of Knightrous Wedge again but Knightrous Wedge is away now, and Alex misses his chance, only slightly, though. Aaron is back in though, and back at Alex, slamming Knightrous Wedge into Cosmic Thunder head-on again, but Alex is lucky again as Knightrous Wedge's lifting arm fails to slide under Cosmic Thunder's flipper! He does, however, go flying over the top of Alex's bot, but that's just what Alex was expecting. Cosmic Thunder turns around almost before Knightrous Wedge has driven off of him and instantly gets to the rear, under it, and FLIP! Overturned Knightrous Wedge again! But Cosmic Thunder doesn't stop there! He goes to the wall, under Knightrous Wedge, and FLIP! At that moment, Aaron hits the flipper button, and Knightrous Wedge rights itself just as he is tossed. His rear end hits the arena wall but he falls right down on all four wheels, facing a Cosmic Thunder with its flipper in the 'up' position! Hurriedly Alex backs off, lowering the flipper, but Knightrous Wedge doesn't want to let him get away with that and rams at him again, catching him before he can turn. Doing so allows him to slide under the corner of Cosmic Thunder and he rams him hard into the wall! WHAM! However, this causes Cosmic thunder to bounce off and away, before the flipping can come into play. Aaron lines Cosmic Thunder up again and goes for the rear end, but Alex isn't going to let his bot got caught again and turns around to face his incoming opponent. WHAM! Knightrous Wedge crashes into Cosmic Thunder, and their weapons cancel out again, right near the wall! Cosmic Thunder is pushed against it, but this causes Knightrous Wedge to get thrown up onto the flipper! FLIP! Aaron again sees his bot go over and fires his flipping arm to right himself, only for Cosmic Thunder to hold him up with the upraised flipper, and throw him into Double Whamlet's CPZ! Whamlet responds with a thwack that doesn't hit the rear-ended Knightrous Wedge properly, and bounces off quite easily, but in come the side axes. Knightrous Wedge's arm comes down but he is still kept onto his ass.
10...9...8...7...
Obelix rushes out to try and beat the timer, but Cosmic Thunder is in his way and gets bulldozed aside by the mighty house robot!
6...5...4...
Knightrous Wedge is clamped and hacked by the twin axes, which are not causing much damage.
3...2...1...
Obelix tackles Knightrous Wedge and brings down the hammer, missing...
CEASE!
A fight to the finish, right to the ends of the wedges! Our judges seemingly enjoyed that fight.
Knightrous Wedge - Cosmic Thunder 2
Style = 2/5 - 3/5 Control = 2/5 - 3/5 Damage = 2/5 - 3/5 Aggression = 3/5 - 2/5 Strategy = 3/5 - 2/5
