Tira-sanWeight Class: Near-superheavyweight; is a house robot at the time. Shape: Hexagonal, but more pointed at the front. Colour: Greens and purples. Speed: 13mph Weight: 130kg Armour: 15mm Titanium/Vanadium alloy Drive: 2 LEM130s @ 36v Power: 4 NiCad Battlepacks @ 36v Motivation: 2WD Ground Clearance: 5mm Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 115 x 100 x 32 Weaponry: A 30kg horizontal spinning disc: the blades are Hardox. Powered by 2 LEM130s @ 48v, this disc spins at 3500rpm and dishes out about 177kJ per hit. Gimmicks: When Tira-san smashes into an opponent with the disc, green and purple sparks are released through the disc slot, much to the delight of the crowd. Srimech: Invertible. BIO: Needed to make the housie invertible: went from vertical to horizontal too but that didn't work out too well against the 'victims'. So I decided, way later on, to make Tira a heavyweight fighter, and thus...redesign! Time of Activity = December 2006 - January 2008

Tira IIIShape: See picture. Colour: See picture. Speed: 20mph Weight: 100kg Armour: Main body is 5mm Grade 5 titanium, scoops and skirts are 8mm G5 Titanium, and the front disc supports are 6mm hardox 750. Drive: 2 LEM130s @ 36v Power: 6 NiCad Battlepacks @ 36v Motivation: 4 Toe Crusher style wheels, 15cm in height, at the corners of the robot. Not exposed, however. Ground Clearance: Front is 0mm at the scoops and 5mm at the disc: sides and rear are 7mm without skirts, and with skirts...guess. Dimensions in CM: (LxWxH) Main body is 55x100x25, with the disc, skirts, and scoops it's 105x120x50. Weaponry: 25kg titanium spinning disc, also powered by 2 LEM130s @ 36v. Gives it 2200rpm spinning speed and a 2.8 second spin-up time, and has enough powerr to dish out a horrifying 98.5kJ! Three red hardox teeth are welded onto the disc to rip, cut, and toss. The disc has a diameter of 50cm, and spins 5mm off the ground. There are scoops beside the disc to stop other robots escaping it. ;D Srimech: None Strengths: Very destructive weapon and high KO potential, hard to get around the front to attack, fast and pushy should the weapon fail. LEM driven drive and weapon, should be good. ;D Weaknesses: No srimech, average body armour. BIO: Tira continued bashing bots as a heavyweight in this design. The 3rd version came, ironically, without a srimech, but nonetheless it managed to absolutely pummel a flipper, namely Wedga's Revenge, into submission. The lack of a srimech still scared me, though, and even though Tira III's record was very impressive...redesign. ...her assault continues to this day, as RoboBASH is ending; sadly, she lost in the Grand Final, but picked up her bronze medal. Officially retired now. Battle Record = 10 wins, 2 losses (10-2) Time of Activity = January 2008 - May 2008 Notable Achievements = RoboBASH Bronze Medalist Theme song = "Burn It Down" by Avenged Sevenfold

Tira IVShape: Cut-off wedge at the front with small scoops (surrounding the disc). The height rises towards the rear then angles down steeply in a tall wedge. Under the disc are two more 'scoops' for foiling the wedges. Behind the disc is a 'pillar' of sorts, which is higher than the disc, is a little thin but wider than the disc's thickness. It is from this 'pillar' that out of which a spike comes out. If you need to know more about the shape, see the CAD. Colour: Red/orange faded stripes, with a bit of black and silver. Name on the top in purple. Speed: 14mph Weight: 100kg Armour: 7mm kevlar sides and rear, and 8mm 7075 aircraft aluminium top and underbelly. There are 5mm titanium/vanadium skirts at the sides and rear that start at half the height of the top edge and angle out at 45 degrees, and are securely placed with several iron bolts. The 'pillar' is made of 3.25mm Hardox. In the (rather minimal) front area is 5mm titanium. Chassis: 4mm steel ladder chassis. 13mm of urethane rubber is placed around key areas in the sides, front, and rear, between the armour and the chassis so as to avoid being shocked to death easily, even from her own hits. Drive: 2 S28-400 MagMotors @ 24v, geared to acceleration Power: 2 NiCad Battlepacks @ 24v Motivation: 4-wheel-drive on a skid steer system; the wheels are CNC hubs and the tyres are completely made of urethane rubber for superb grip. Ground Clearance: The scoops and curved wedge under/behind the disc are 0mm, directly between the bottom of the disc and the floor is 15mm. The sides are 10mm without skirts and the rear is 15mm without skirts. Turning Circle: (does this need to be put? ) Zero. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH) Main body without skirts scoops and disc = 90 x 90 x 30 Altogether = 130 x 100 x 56 Weaponry: A large 50cm diameter vertical flywheel, weighing in at 22kg because it also has a center rotor holding it stable, constructed from Hardox but with cut holes/markings for better dynamics. The thickness of the flywheel is 10mm, and it has three Hardox teeth, as before, also pointed as before. Powering this disc is 2 LEM130 Lynch Motors @ 36v and 6 NiCad Battlepacks @ 36v. With an RPM value of 2750, it unleashes 106kJ of energy with every blow, and it can accelerate to that 2750RPM within 2.2 seconds. Srimech: Finally, Tira gets a srimech. The key here is that 'pillar' I mentioned earlier, which houses a pneumatic spike, powered by a 2kg CO2 canister. The spike is 3cm in diameter, is more of a boxy spike than a cylindrical one and is made of titanium. If Tira lands on her back, this will shoot her back onto her wheels in around a second. It fires only 10-15 times, so it doesn't last forever. Strengths: Absurdly powerful, fast for a bot of its nature, chassis is strong, hard to get under, hard to avoid weapon. WEIGHT CHECKBody armouring - ~13kg Skirts - ~5kg Chassis and shockproofing - ~20kg Disc - ~22kg Disc power - ~15kg Drivetrain - ~10kg Srimech and power - ~5kg Other bits - ~10kg Total = ~100kg BIO: Tira was redesigned to be more stable, while more powerful all the same. The addition of a srimech (which Aaron Knight discerns unfathomable ) will help Tira IV overcome other flippers as well. But...there were just too many areas to hit. Just...too many. Redesign, again, once more... Battle Record = 1 win, 3 losses (1-3) Time of Activity = May 2008 - October 2008 Notable Achievements = None Theme song = "Inside the Fire" by Disturbed

Tira VShape: Angle-scoop front with sloped sides and rear wedge. Colour: Take a look. XD Weight: 100kg Drive: 2 S28-400 MagMotors run on 23.1 volts and geared 4.5:1 Power: 7 M1 A123 Li-Ion batteries Motivation: 2 CNC hubs 100mm in diameter, with a thick layer of polyurethane stickied on them. Speed: 12mph Armour/Chassis: A 3.2mm Hardox monocoque, but attached to that is a 10mm polycarbonate covering on the disc, so that if Tira falls on her back, the disc won't hit the floor. The motor mounts and disc bearings are shockproofed to prevent Tira killing herself from her own blows (shockproofing the whole thing is nonsense ) Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front and rear, 5mm at the sides. Turning Circle: Come on, you should smart enough to know this by now. It's zero, you fools.Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 105 x 80 x 30 (the height is 55cm including the disc and 60cm including the disc cover) Weaponry: A big titanium disc, 16kg, with 3 2kg Hardox teeth, bringing the total weight to 22kg. Powered by a 3125XP Husqvarna chainsaw engine (yes, I've given in to the 'FRA chainsaw massacre' ), it hits with about 31kJ of force at 1000rpm, and about 121kJ at the maximum of 2500rpm. It takes 1.2 seconds to get to 1000rpm and 3.5 to get to 2500rpm. The teeth are designed to be jocks of all trades - rip, flip, and knock away panels. At the other end is a relatively weak front-hinged flipper, powered by a 1.5kg CO2 tank. It can toss over an opponent of Tira's own weight without too much trouble and should achieve 200kg of lift, but it's mainly used for self-righting. It has 15 flips. Srimech: Flipper. Tira can't land on her sides because they're slanted and cause her to fall onto her back. Strengths: Powerful disc, better srimech than before, relatively nimble, decent armour. BIO: I really didn't see how I thought Tira IV was any good before. Too many areas to hit; it was worse than Tira III. So...we've pulled a disc/flipper combo out of our hat! And Tira V is the first bot on my squad to use a chainsaw engine for its disc. Go figure. Sadly, due to controversy about her self-righting, she's been redesigned early. Tira VIShape: How do I explain this without referring to the render...I guess I can't. Look at it. Now. And for those who can't see it, err...oh boy, umm...she's a reverse wedge with rounded sides and front 'wings' that come out from the sides and run along the ground. She also has two front prongs connected to the rear front-hinged flipper. These prongs surround the disc. Colour: Mix of reds, oranges, and browns. Weight: 100kg Drive: LEM130 Lynch motors @ 36.3v, geared 6:1. Power: 11 M1 A123 Lithium-Ion battery packs. Motivation: Inner 4WD. CNC hubs, urethane coated just like Storm II's wheels. Speed: 13mph (geared to acceleration) Armour: 5mm Ti/V for pretty much the entire body except the prongs. The prongs are 5mm Hardox. The rear skirt is 6mm Grade 5 titanium. Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front (10mm under the disc), 0mm at the rear with the skirt on (5mm without skirt), 10mm at the sides of the 'wings' and 15mm at the actual sides. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 110 x 85 x 35 Weaponry: Tira VI continues the trend of having a vertical disc, and thus in this incarnation she has a 13kg titanium vertical disc at the front, sporting 3 2kg teeth, powered by the same 3125XP Husqvarna chainsaw engine used last time. It can dish out about 45kJ at 1250RPM, but it doesn't go higher than that. She can reach 1250RPM in approximately 1 second thanks to some decent geardown (indirect thanks to Tom Roper for that ). It's meant for fast hits, not severe shocks (although those aren't fazed out of the equation really, 45kJ is rather a lot in itself. ;D) The second weapon is a front-hinged flipper. At the rear, that is. However, it's not really used much as a weapon, more of a srimech than anything, but as an afterthought, a skirt is at the rear to compensate the 5mm ground clearance under the flipper. There are prongs attached to the flipper, fixated between the front disc, so if a rammer tries anything funny on the disc, the prongs are there to act as a rear-hinged flipper and toss them up and over. The flipper itself is powered by a 1kg CO 2 tank and 75mm x 50mm ram, so she has 15 flips. Srimech: Flipper BIO: After struggling to find a good design, with some help I've managed to pull this off. Tira V had srimech issues, but this version doesn't thanks to the lower stance, front 'wings' and wider back. Now then...let's play, shall we? Your move. ;D Battle Record = 0 wins, 0 losses (0-0) Time of Activity = June 2009 - present Notable Achievements = Best Vertical Spinner and Most Effective Weapon of 2009! Tira VIIShape: Axlebot with the middle bent out forward. Colour: Mix of greens and purples, as with the 1-3 and 5 versions. Weight: 100kg Drive: Two Ampflow A28-150 motors, geared 9:1 for more acceleration and turning speed Power: 3 packs of 7 M1 A123 Li-Ion cells, 23.1v overall Motivation: Two large S3-like wheels, protected by 4 S7 tool steel spikes protruding from 5mm Ti/V hubs. Top Speed: 10mph Armour: 3mm Ti/V all around and some polycarb in important places, except for the disc containment. The disc has a bit of a "cage" covering the back half of it and it is made of 7mm Hardox bars, and the cage also doubles as stationary "forks" of sorts. This is also the case inverted. Ground Clearance: 0 where the "forks" are, and 15mm under the main body. Turning Circle: Near to zero as can be Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 90 x 130 x 75 (as a barebones axlebot without disc, cage, or hubs, 50 x 95 x 40) Weaponry: Tira VII reuses the 25kg titanium vertical disc from her Tira III days. It's 55cm in diameter, has two sharp Hardox teeth, and housed in the rear by a 7mm Hardox bar cage. Behind the cage is where the power for the weaponry is housed: not just one, but two 3125XP Husqvarna chainsaw engines (17.2kg in total weapon power). The flipper is gone because of this, though. Power output is crazy. Since two engines power the disc, it will spin up VERY fast. It will reach a max RPM of 3000 in two seconds (like Executioner!) and will pretty much demolish anything it touches...623kJ, anyone? I can keep it at 1000rpm (69kJ in 0.3 seconds) or 2000rpm (277kJ in 1 second) thanks to ye olde trusty gearbox though. Srimech: Invertible Notes: "Has an absolute buttload of shockproofing." -Frank Goacher Almost every part is shock mounted and protected by urethane rubber, though not too tightly. Batteries are protected by extra polypropylene containers, and the inner Ti/V walls (near components, anyway) are backed by polyurethane foam. BIO: This was going to become "Creeping Death" on the ARC boards, but I decided to keep it here...so she's Tira VII. And she's going to rip your heart out...if you've got one.
