Name: Troubloon Twice the Trouble Weight Class: Two Middleweights that combine to form a Heavyweight Shape: A clusterbot Colour: You should know. Look at the picture. Armour: Each has 5mm Hardox 600 Speed: Each can move at 12mph Weight: Each are 49.6kg Dimensions: Each - Length = 60cm, Width = 55cm, Height = 18cm Ground Clearance: The sides and back are wedges, but they're not skirts, so it's 3mm all around for each of them Turning Circle: Nada Power: For each of them have 2 B34-200 Magmotors. Batteries: 4 NiCads for each. Speed Controllers: VANTEC RDFR series for both. Wheels: 4 Little Drummer Boy ones like. Weapons: Both the robots have hardened-steel drums with hardox-tipped spikes on each. The drums spin at 1500rpm and are powered each by an S28-400 MagMotor Srimech: None, but extremely difficult to flip over. Strengths: Destructive, can work togther. Weaknesses: Weak when split up. Summary: I decided to trash the 13 Black idea and decide on two Little Drummer Boys, but with little luck: it didn't do so well. So...yeah. Name: Dysfunction Shape: A reverse Kill-O-Amp with two skirts at the rear/sides. Still has the side wedges, but they are more towards the opponent now to drive them more than ever to the drum. The skirts connect the back with the side wedges. Weight: 99kg. Colour: Orange with "Dysfunction" on the top in blue "Courier New" font. Drive: 2 C40-500 Mags @ 48v. Geared at 9:1. Speed: 25mph Wheels: 4 like Biohazard's, but a bit bigger, they are very exposed at the top, but they make Dysfunction invertible (something that I debated for a while) Batteries: 6 x 48v NiMH, capacity = 3600 mAh. 4 packs power the rear wheels and 2 power the front wheels. Armour: 8mm hardox 650. Yay, another mm added on! Ground Clearance: 0mm at the sides/rear thanks to the skirts; at the front, it's 1cm, but that's because the drum's there Dimensions in CM: 80 x 70 x 22.5 Weaponry: A front drum spinning at 3000rpm, with many sharp, barbed teeth. It is powered by a LEM130 @ 36v. It works both ways up, but is 5mm closer to the ground when inverted. The drum pokes out from the robot to get to the opponent without risking damage to the sides, like El Diablo Grande. 8mm hardox 650 panels cover these exposed parts. The side "spiked out" wedges drive the opponents toward the drum. Srimech: Invertible. Strengths: Versatile, very hard to get under, excellent armour. Weakness: Wheels exposed from the top. BIO: A much better design, but when I saw that vertical clampers could get at the sides easily, I had to redesign it. I think it is definitely one of my better designs though. Dysfunction 2.0Colour: Red Weight: 100kg Drive: 2 S28-400 Magmotors @ 36v, geared 6:1 and powered by NiMH cells. Has 2 T-Minus-style wheels (Season 5 btw) that go through the back of the bot. Speed: 12mph Armour: 7mm Grade 5 titanium. Ground Clearance: Extreme front is 0mm, the rest of the wedge is 2mm, and the rear is 4mm. Dimensions in CM: 70 x 85 x 15 Weaponry: Here's the interesting part. The first weapon is a pair of drums made of stainless steel, with titanium edges instead of spikes, designed mostly to flip opponents rather than damae them, but they are quite damage capable. They're angled 60 degrees away from each other, 30 degrees to the front, to catch ramers to try to speed by. They are powered by the same S28-150 Magmotor and run at 1000rpm.The second weapon is a pneumatic flipping arm powered by a single 2kg CO2 tank. This flipper rests between the two drums. It juts out from the robot and is 15cm further than the tip of the drums. It's capable of flipping 250kg and has about 15-20 odd flips. Srimech: Flipper Strengths: Originality, versatile front end, flipping good. Weaknesses: Ineffective on its back, wheels exposed a little from back. BIO: Its 4th. It had dual drums to fend off side attacks, and a front flipping arm too. Its armour may have been worse but I think it's a good compromise. One of the best CADs I made too before I was introduced to Flamingo, lol. Problem? My mind was stoned. The weapon synergy was poor...and it didn't have a shape! ;D Well, not in the stats, anyway... ;D ...scrapped! AftershockShape: Horizontal cylinder Colour: See picture Speed: 10mph Weight: 100kg Armour: The drum and hubs are 9mm titanium. Drive: 2 S28-150s, 24v. Power: 4 NiCad Battlepacks, 24v. Motivation: Two large packed-tight-with-foam tires, like Overkill just less wide. They are very tough even against disc weapons. Ground Clearance: 20mm under the drum Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 95x40x40 Weaponry: The 29kg drum and 11kg hubs are all weapons here. All spin independently through one LEM130 motor each: the hubs have 2 hardox teeth while the drum has 10. The drum spins at 3500rpm and dishes out 43kJ, while the hubs spin at 6000rpm and dish out 31kJ. Srimech: Invertible. Strengths: Destructive, tire weakness is very hard to exploit, flipping it does nothing. Tough armour. BIO: Troubloon's 5th incarnation. Again unique as it had rotating outer hubs as well as the main drum. Uploaded refinished CAD and updated stats a bit too, but it seriously lacked win outside of a couple of tourneys where it actually did well. Thank you to Martijn Benschop for helping with it. Troubloon 6Shape: Box wedge with inverted rear wedge. Colour: Mainly brick red. Name on top. Weight: 100kg Speed: 12mph Armour: 3.2mm Hardox monocoque, weighing in at 34kg. The side skirts are 3mm Grade 5 titanium. Drive: 2 S28-400 MagMotors run at 23.1 volts. Power: 7 M1 A123 Li-Ion packs. Motivation: 2WD, titanium hubs with a two-component polyurethane coating. Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front behind the disc, 2cm under the disc, 10mm at the sides (0 with skirts), and 15mm at the rear. Turning Circle: One that is non-existant. In other words, zero. Dimensions in CM: 85 x 65 x 16 Weapon 1: Two 10kg horizontal titanium flywheels, a low one at the front wedge and a high one at the rear wedge, with 2 large Hardox teeth. When flipped, the 'high rear disc' becomes the 'low front disc' and vice-versa. They're powered by one S28-400 MagMotor at 36 volts and spin at 2000rpm. They take about 4.7 seconds to get there and dish out approximately 64.3kJ per hit. There is a belt in the weapon drive so that if one of the discs is stalled, the S28 will keep on spinning and the other disc will as well. Weapon 2: Not really a weapon, but there are extended 'horns' at the front and rear, sharpened and diamond-tipped. The horns at the rear are to spear wedges that try to race in under the rear, and the horns at the front do the same when inverted. Srimech: Invertible. Strengths: Can still attack if one of the discs stops, relatively speedy for 2WD, tough armour. Compact. BIO: Aftershock was quite good, but it's been ousted in other tournaments in Round 1 quite a bit. So I decided to go back to the first Troubloon design (even the name) and modify it, credit of which goes to Aaron, Leo, and Martijn for all their help. And after pretty much a year of activity, Troubloon 6 goes to the barnyard as a radical take on it emerges. 7roubloonShape: See the render for accuracy - it's a box with a front plow/wedge and inverted reverse plow/wedge. Has spikes on the sides. Colour: Render tells all. Weight: 100kg Drive: 2 S28-400 MagMotors slightly overvolted @ 26.4v and geared 6:1 for average mix of speed, acceleration, and control Power: 8 M1 A123 Lithium-Ion packs Motivation: The main change here is the new 4WD 7roubloon has over last generation. This means 7roubloon will be much more stable after a hit. The wheels are inner, and are 17.5cm diameter CNC aluminium hubs with the usual urethane tires Speed: 13mph Armour: 5mm Ti/V alloy all around, slightly tougher than the 3.2mm Hardox from Troubloon 6. Chassis: 5mm steel ladder chassis, sturdy and able to bear heavy hits. Ground Clearance: 2.5cm under the disc, 1.5cm everywhere else Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 95 x 85 x 17.5 (14.5cm without wheels) Weaponry: 7roubloon retains its front and rear horizontal discs from last generation, only now they weight about 5kg more, and are angled by about 15 degrees, so when fighting wedges, they are much more effective. Well, at least the front one is. The rear one is angled the other way, just in case a flipper decides to flip 7roubloon, in which case it will work exactly the same way up. Not that the rear disc can't hit anything, it's 15cm off the ground so bots with higher height than that should beware. Each disc is run on an S28-400 MagMotor run at 26.4v and powered by respective A123 packs. Geardown on the discs is about 3:1 so they should get to 2000rpm in about 5 seconds and have about 85kJ each to dish out. Srimech: Invertible. BIO: Basically radically altering Troubloon 6 after Troubloon 6's long stay in the field of activity. Troubloon 8Shape: Mostly unchanged; a front plow/wedge and inverted reverse plow/wedge. The sides are now pointed outward though. Colour: Mix of gold and bronze. Weight: 100kg Drive: 2 Ampflow A28-400 motors, geared 4.5:1 for more control. Power: 4 packs of 7 M1 A123 Li-Ion cells, 23.1v altogether Motivation: Going back to the 2WD that Troubloon 6 had before, since with its weapon power Troubloon 8 won't be able to put enough traction to the floor for four wheels. It has the exact same actually; titanium hubs with a two-component polyurethane coating. Speed: 10mph Armour: Shedding two wheels, the side spikes, and a battery pack gives us more weight to work with, so Troubloon 8 has 6mm Ti/V all about. Ground Clearance: 2.5cm under the front disc, 1.5cm elsewhere Turning Circle: Hahahahahahahano. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 105 x 100 x 15 (length is 125 with discs) Weaponry: The twin discs return again, and are still angled. However, they are once again 10kg (minus the 2kg Hardox teeth). This is to have a better motor powering each disc; a LEM130 on 36.3v. Even with the better power, geardown on the discs is still 3:1 to keep things stable, so the discs get up to 1500rpm in about 3.5 seconds and dish out 108kJ every full power hit. Srimech: Invertible BIO: You could call this a freshening, but IMO there are too many modifications to just call it that. So here's generation 8.
